I have a TON of other saws (other Dewalt, Bosch, Milwaukee, Makita, Skil, Ryobi, etc.) and I'm completely manufacturer/label agnostic. I bought this one to get long straight cuts on my new composite deck butt joints (on a 45' x 20' deck, plus long stairs on both sides) because I already had a big Dewalt battery, and this saw worked flawlessly. I did buy the longer track (102", I think), but probably didn't need to. I read a lot of reviews that complained about different aspects of this saw, and I'm so glad I ignored them. The adjustments and settings are easy to read and use, although not completely perfect, so I'm not sure what people are complaining about. This saw cut through Trex solid composite boards like butter and gave a perfect edge without even breaking a sweat. I could go on and on but don't have time. I don't love everything Dewalt makes, including my new 3-plane laser level, but this track saw is simply amazing. P.S. Ignore the hand railing - a horrible contractor did it 8 years ago, and I'll be replacing it next.

I bought this tool not knowing if it was a sometimes tool or would actually be worth the purchase price. Once the initial setup was finished on the tool I was completely blown away by how much easier it was to cut plywood sheets! I used it to build a few floating shelves and even with the only 56" track I found that I could complete ¾ of a 76” cut and then line up the track with the back half of the cut to finish it up and it all lined up perfectly! I couldn’t tell where the cut was split between the two runs. The saw has tons of power and just eats right through wood so it can go about as fast as you want to push the saw on the track. I also got to rip some 1x12 boards to 2 ½” strips and it was so smooth that it felt like a sanded surface on the cut path.Overall I have nothing but praise for this and would note that putting a 9.0 AH battery on the saw will result in greater power and although some users complained that it takes up too much room I didn’t notice it taking up any space I was using. Also the push plunge mechanism seems intuitive enough, I don’t have experience with track saws prior but it was easy to use and didn’t really take getting used to for me.

I have absolutely NOTHING but good things to say about this saw. I've never owned Festool track saws, and I was admittedly very worried about getting this saw instead of a Festool. I was worried because this saw has received mixed reviews all over the internet (YT), but I am very pleased with my saw. Now, I will admit to be a DeWALT shop, truck, and everything, kind-of-guy. No doubt. My miter saws, drills, impact drivers, oscillating tools, jig-saws, brad nailers, grinders, portable table saws..., yes all of that stuff is DeWALT, and I've always been very pleased with their stuff. However, this saw was a risky purchase in my mind primarily due to the Festool dominance in the track saw space, but I was pleasantly surprised. I've cut everything from finished interior doors, to raw plywood (Chinese and Domestic ply), and I've just never used a better cutting saw! It simply works great. No chipping, square cuts, long battery life, ergonomic, easy to use, yada, yada, yada.Pros: It's a great saw, guys! Period. We use this thing A LOT, in the shop and on the job-site. We primarily build cabinets, and perform various other finish carpentry tasks. It works great for us.Cons: My saw didn't come with an extra battery or charger. You'll need to purchase an extra, 6.0/ah, 60V battery, and a DeWALT fast charger, but I purchased those on the internet for a very reasonable price. No big deal.

Works well. But I believe it is over priced, no reason for this to be at the cost of a table saw.

If you can get this tool set-up and figure out the dust collection issue, it's a good tool.I strongly recommend watching a youtube video on the initial setup and calibration for the saw. The included instructions basically don't even explain it.-Loosening/tightening the track guides requires a 3/32 hex wrench which is not supplied. The dust port sprays right back towards you which is annoying unless you have a dust bag or hose extraction. Speaking of which, Dewalt does not include a dust bag or any hose adapters which is a MAJOR negative. A cheap dust bag would make this tool so much better. My Dewalt miter saw dust bag is the exact same OD which means it does not fit. My hose end does not fit either. I've spent hours trying to figure out which adapter(s) to get and it's pretty much impossible to figure out without buying a bunch of stuff and hoping something magically works.-There is no 45 degree bevel stop.-Adjusting the depth of cut is a bit of trial-and-error as you can't just put the saw on your material and eyeball it because you need to account for the depth of the track.-The track guide is nice albeit a little floppy. You will want to store it carefully so it doesn't get bent.-The actual cutting process is very smooth and easy.OVERALLThis tool works well to rip long sheets of plywood or other material. Once you calibrate it and learn the quirks, it is easy to use. However, this saw will spew a ton of dust and good luck trying to figure out an easy dust collection mechanism - if you do, please let me know!

Very handy track saw. Bought the 8+ foot track in addition to some dust collection attachments. For the few cuts I do at a time, the battery stays at full power. Run it over some thick foam insulation sheets.
