I ordered this tool as an open box/ used item. Its performed well and although its about the same size as the XR, the Atomic line of tools from Dewalt are a bit more compact than the XR line. This tool does everything you want an oscillating tool to do. Cuts wood, plastic, light metal, wood w/ nails and drywall. Use mine mostly to cut drywall or cabinets. Runs great and realistic to use a 2ah battery on it too.

I bought into the Dewalt system years ago with the impact/drill bundle deal and have slowly been adding since. This was the tool I was most hesitant about. For one, I already have a multitool. I've had a corded Dremel multitool that Ive used a lot for about 8 years, and I've never really loved it. Secondly I never had a trigger activated multitool and I didn't think that I'd prefer that over the switch. Thirdly, I read/watched many multitool comparisons that said the Milwaukee was better. Ultimately, I disliked my Dremel enough (the switch would turn off from vibration of the tool was ultimately what pushed me toward replacement), and I wasn't going to switch battery platforms for an occasional use tool, so I purchased this. I've only done a small amount of electrical work with this, but I am pleasantly surprised on all fronts. It turns out I really like the trigger much more than I thought I would. Being able to control the speed with my trigger finger really helps me start cuts or end them instantly, and no accidentally turning a speed dial mid cut. I also found the form factor to be much better than I expected. The Dremel was so fat in my hand I never felt like I had great control over it, but this tool I really like the comfortable narrow grip and feel like I can be much more precise. This tool is also much quieter with less vibration than the dremel. Last but not least, the blade change on this tool was shockingly easy. The dremel lever used to snap back and pinch my fingers if I wasn't careful and I hated changing blades.

Even without the battery this was a great purchase. Having other DeWalt tools and batteries it didn't hold me back. It's a great tool with good price and ease of uses. If you know what these tools can accomplish you'll love this. If you don't, you will still love it but it'll take a few minutes.

I use the big 6 AH battery with it and it cuts for hours. I love the blade change system it's SO handy not to need a wrench. It feels good in the hands and the trigger has a LOT of variable positions so there is a speed for any purpose. I used an original harbor freight OSMT for about 10 years this one is WAY nicer and more powerful.

So handy, runs long on battery, doesn't overheat, durable, easy chg blades, has gotten me out of numerous messes. Extremely functional. Love it, love it!

I use this quite a bit in my woodworking shop from scraping glue squeeze out to trimming things just enough to fit. Would buy again. Has been going strong for years.

LOVE this tool. I have several Dewalt 20v tools, but this is my go to as it takes care of more common needs. From small trims to cutting off broken or stripped screw and nail heads.

This was a great value and I purchased 2 for a friend and myself. I was a bit disappointed when the price dropped by $20 each the next day after mine had shipped. Oh well. Still a great tool. Can't go wrong with DeWalt. This tool has multitude of uses. I use this tool both on my boat as well as around home. Can't comment on battery life yet but I use the larger 5 amp battery so should not be an issue
