I initially intended to leave a 1-star review for this product, but I'm glad I got the chance to correct my mistake. The item itself works fine, and the issue I experienced was due to my own error during installation.I did find it unusual that Amazon didn't allow me to post my original review, citing guideline issues. As a frequent DIYer, I have replaced many electrical outlets and light switches in my home throughout the years. I was a bit skeptical for an off brand but it was exactly what I was looking for at a great price so I figured I would give them a try. The first thing to highlight is that you absolutely cannot wire these on the side like the description says unless you are using hair thin wires. There is simply no way standard electrical wires will fit around these screws. So after a long time struggling and becoming frustrated I decided to try the alternative option to wire through the holes in the back. While these were easy enough to insert and tighten, it was not the ideal wiring set up I had in mind. After all the time and struggle, and disassembling and reassembling my wiring 3 different times, the outlet never once worked. So I returned them, paid a few extra dollars for a name brand, and installed different ones no problem.
