The Dewitt Pro-5 Weed Barrier Woven Fabric is a bit on the pricier side, but it’s absolutely worth every penny! This fabric is incredibly durable and has done an excellent job at keeping weeds at bay in my garden and flower beds. It’s woven tightly, allowing water and nutrients to pass through while blocking weeds from growing.I’ve tried other weed barriers in the past, but this one stands out for its quality and longevity. It’s easy to lay down, doesn’t tear easily, and holds up well under the elements. After installing it, I’ve noticed a significant reduction in weeds, and my plants have been thriving without the constant hassle of pulling weeds. If you want a high-quality, reliable weed barrier that will last, I highly recommend the Dewitt Pro-5 Weed Barrier. It’s an investment that pays off in the long run!

This is the real stuff, it is thick and durable and will outlast all the others. I ran a nursery business for 20+ years and this is the landscape fabric I used, minus the fuzzy back, that’s a new thing I’m not crazy about, because if you need to pull this cloth up you’ll have clumps of fuzz all over the ground to gather up too. But don’t let that stop you from buying, this is a true commercial product at a great price!

Like many other reviewers of this product, I’ve tried the “best” weed barriers offered by the box stores and didn’t get results I wanted. So what makes Dewitt Pro5 different? Read on….The product is thicker than the top of the line garden center products. It’s described as double layered, and it is. The top layer is a weaved poly-like coat that looks like it will provide good drainage. The bottom layer looks like a fuzzy blanket — tighter but still good drainage. The top has yellow lines that make a great spacing guide when planting. It can also help with evenly placing staples. TIP: be sure to order staples for your project as this commercial grade product doesn’t include staples as some kit weed barrier products do.Challenges with installing include difficultly cutting with basic scissors. I cut mine with a matte cutting knife. A carpet knife would make this much easier. Measuring your garden space and cutting the correct length from the roll makes placement easier than rolling the material out on the ground as this is much heavier than the consumer product you may be used to.The seller is very good at customer service. I received a notification from Amazon that the item delivery was delayed. Since the shipper had no information about the status, and Amazon had no way to adjust the order (because the shipping information was not available), I contacted the seller and got a prompt response. The order came in but Amazon thought (and still thinks) the order has not been received. The seller took care of us even though the “normal” solutions were not available in Amazon’s system. If you’re looking for a top quality product supported by a responsive seller, this is the way to go. The product is on the expensive side, but well worth it for the quality and for the great service.

This is the best landscape fabric I've found so far. Put down a layer of cardboard underneath and has stopped the weeds for about 6 months and has not ripped so far.

After using some Dewitt 3 ounce weed barrier to line some flower beds, I decided to order 250 foot of the 5 ounce to completely rework my vegetable garden area. The 5 ounce material is very different from the 3 ounce material we used in the front beds. The 3 ounce was more tarp-like on one side and the 5 ounce lacks a plastic like surface. When we first put in the garden, we rented a sod cutter and removed the grass from the area. Then we setup five 4 x 8 beds in a pattern that would allow them to be worked from all sides and not require walking in them. The surrounding area has been home to many earthboxes and other containers.Within a short time, the bermuda grass invaded the raised beds from underneath and I gave up using them completely. For several years, I've been relying on only the containers for growing our vegetables. After removing everything from the area, emptying the beds of grass and weed filled dirt and lifting them out, the entire area was covered with this weed barrier using six inch anchor pins to hold it in place. We then positioned the raised beds and lined them again, creating a double layer of weed barrier in the bottom of the raised beds. We're now filling them with new garden soil that is free of weeds and grass. The removed mess was spread in low areas of our yard to level. I'm optimistic that I'll be able to actually garden again without fighting the invasive bermuda grass in my raised beds. When we originally setup the area, we installed fence posts but haven't had any fence surrounding the garden area. My brother came up with a great idea to keep both rabbits and grass clippings out of my garden area. We're going to wrap the area with aluminum screen. With a gate installed near the water source, 28 inch aluminum screen, anchored with more 6 inch anchor pins will help keep both the rabbits and the mower thrown grass clippings out of the space.Update on 11/01/13:The area has been through an entire season now and all is well. We haven't seen any bermuda grass or other unwelcome growth inside the raised beds or garden areas we've lined with this fabric. It appears to be holding up well and doing the job.The lined surfaces outside of the raised beds are covered by mulch or old rubber backed carpet runners, so the barrier is not being subjected to the sun.
