This is good purchase. Gives Clear and accurate temp readings. I use to measure AC temp in cars and home. I used to use analog unit which was also good but slower to react to changes and difficult to read. This is much easier and faster way to get temp. Reasonable price.

Its 'very delicate' so I knew it would break very quick.It broke very soon. waste of money.

I ordered a new instant-read thermometer to replace my old trutemp that looked exactly like the one in the picture. Loved that one. It was fast and easy to use. The one I received was red, with the same button layout. Still eat to use, but it's a little slower on the reads. Takes about twice as long. Where the old one took about 4 or 5 seconds to read a steady temp on a piece of meat, this one takes about 10. Not a huge deal, but i like the averaging algorithm in the old one better.Update: Dropping to 2 stars. It's just too slow to be effective at real world kitchen pace. Would not buy again.
