I see that the listing has changed since my order. This review is for a DHS 7001 paddle with "Hurricane" rubber on the purple (but it seems more blue) side and "Hurricane III" on the black. It was listed for $69.99 at the time that I got it.The rubbers on this paddle confused me at first since they didn't look like what I was used to seeing from Hurricanes. After doing some research I figured out that the purple side is a Hurricane 9 and the black is a Hurricane 3 Neo. This explains why the black doesn't have the iconically glossy and tacky surface that I'm used to seeing. The weight of the paddle seems in the right range but on the light side. Makes it feel a little nimble to start but the balance is head-heavy so for those who don't like that, it may feel awkward. This is my preference though so it's a plus for me.A bounce test speaks to the authenticity of the rubbers. The paddle seems slow; almost dead. But Hurricane rubbers are usually like this so it's no big deal.Once at the table the power is noticeable. The heavy-ish weight of the blade makes it so your blocks aren't completely dead, though you may need to push some more depending on what you're used to using. Deadening a ball and playing short is pretty easy to do with this paddle. When you want the power though, it's there. It seems they opted for a fairly hard blade so if you really slap at the ball for a smash, you can get some really nice speeds. That said, there's certainly some faster combinations out there but you'll be losing out on some spin capability with many of those other options. And speaking of spin, this spin on this is really nice. I love my loops and this has a good feel when I do them. There's just enough dwell to know you got the spin you wanted (or not) and that's possibly the most important part of all of this.So yeah, great paddle at a great price, now that I know what the rubbers are. It's tournament-worthy and I recommend it.

Solid paddle, not sure if its worth the price. I would put this paddle with the ~$40 quality paddle. Not sure if it warrants the near $70 price tag

I like that it comes with a little case and a plastic sheet to store the rubber films when you're using the paddle. Lots of the guys I work with keep their paddles in a zip lock bag to keep the rubber from oxidizing. I don't know if I can be that serious about it.The case only covers the head of the paddle. The handle sticks out.I'm still learning to play better so I can't comment on its technical abilities. I feel like I can spin the ball better now and the people I play with tell me that I'll notice it more as I get better.Good value and I'd be happy to have received it as a gift.

Good quality racket. I like the weight it has to it. Very nice and sturdy. Feels professional for sure. I really like the carrying case it comes with. Good overall and I would definitely recommend this one and order it again.

The DHS 7001 is a nice table tennis racquet, I think. DHS makes quality table tennis equipment. On the cover of the box is a picture of a Chinese woman playing table tennis. I think it is Sun Yingsha, the Paris Olympic silver medalist, and current world #1 on the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) women's singles rankings (as of mid-October 2024).I say, "I think," because although it appears to be Sun Yingsha and a quality piece of kit, the information on the box is almost all in Chinese, a language that I neither speak nor read, so while much information is provided, I don't know what kind of player this racquet was designed for (e.g., offensive, defensive, or all-around). I also do not know on this pre-assembled racquet, if the glue that was used allows the rubbers to be replaced when they eventually do wear out.NOTE: Cleaning the racquet after playing to wash off dirt and body oils from the rubber, then storing the racquet so that the rubbers are protected from the air to reduce oxidation (e.g., with a specialized protective film covering or even just in a plastic bag), will greatly extend the "stickiness" of the rubber and the useful playing life. The blade's rubbers are both International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF)-approved. The black rubber is DHS Hurricane 3, and the violet rubber is DHS Hurricane 9 (I found this out only after opening the box to look at the racquet -- the information was not on the website). Both these quality rubbers are known for their control, though different rubbers on each side of the blade would allow a player to see which rubber best suited the backhand and which the forehand. Having two different rubbers would also allow for some "twiddling" of the racquet (i.e., switching the rubber used for backhand and forehand) to produce different spins from the same time of shot.I got this racquet as a present for a friend because she likes the color violet. I did not know at the time that this was such a quality piece of kit. Now I'm quite keen to try out this racquet; but I'll have to wait until Christmas. There is a lot of information on the box, but since it is mostly in Chinese, I could not evaluate it. I would suggest that to be marketed in the United States, that it would be worthwhile for DHS to employ a good translator and to redesign the box for the English-speaking market. The racquet is very nice, I think.

I believe DHS is one of the better paddle manufacturers for the common player, but this model had a few flaws. The plastic logo inset into the handle was not flush. It stuck up ever so slightly, but enough to be disconcerting as I played. The blue DHS tape around the flat of the paddle was not centered and did not adhere to the paddle on the ends. The writing on the box is not tailored for sale in America. It is mostly Asian characters I could not understand.
