This Diamond Tester Pen and Jewelers Eye Loupe work well. The light and U.V lights work very well on the loupe also. I am getting so much use out of them so far and they seem to be good quality.

I'm not a gemologist, but have an interest as a hobby. This kit is just what I wanted. I take it with me to gem shows so I quickly check out the quality of stones before buying. The magnifying glass has two LED lights. One is a bright white light and the other is a dim, blue light. The later is used for looking at banknotes to detect counterfeits. Very clever. As for the diamond detector, I haven't had the chance to use it on a real diamond. However, I did test it on a cubic zirconia and it correctly identified as not being a real diamond. I'll come back and update this review if I find it fails on a real diamond. To close, for the money, this is an affordable starter kit for the hobbyist. This Diamond Tester Pen and Full Metal Jewlers Loupe is a great set for anyone interested in knowing more about their valuables. This gives you high accuracy and instructions that explains how to use it. It did say It can be used on other stones as well but there are no directions for that which is a bit frustrating. I have a ton of loose stones and I really was hoping to use this to test them. Unfortunately I have no clue where to start with this. Maybe include a guide for beginners!

I decided to get this diamond tester because I've been diving deeper into jewelry and wanted a reliable way to identify real diamonds. Using it has been pretty straightforward. It comes with good instructions, and I appreciate that it includes a battery, so it's ready to use right away. The magnifying glass that comes with it is well made and really helpful with the built-in light, making it easier to inspect stones closely.However, I noticed that the calibration can be a bit confusing. I struggled a bit with understanding the correct settings, and you definitely need to be aware of the room temperature as it affects readings. This diamond tester worked great right out of the box. It comes with a battery so you don’t even have to worry about trying to find one. The instructions are very clear and the tester is very easy to understand and use. I tested my engagement ring and it read as expected. Then I tested some other jewelry which also tested as expected. Seems very accurate. No problems with this at all, I definitely recommend this product.

I have several loupes that are similar, and having them come with the diamond tester is a nice bonus since they're convenient to have when you want to check out details of a stone. The diamond tester is working well and I've been playing around with moissanite, diamonds and sapphire, and so far it seems to be working accurately.

The diamond tester works great it even comes with the battery. The instructions are clear on how to use. I’ve tested a few items so far and it’s actually accurate. It’s nice quality and a good value.
