Instructions to me are not very clear. Takes some time to try and figure out if it's working like it should. Still not 100% it's reading correctly. I am still learning the readings that it gives. The quality feels about right, reads diamonds, just still learning. As far as the magnifier, it's not small enough to get into some rings to read it markings.

It's really important to follow the directions on these devices. So far, when doing that, I have had no issues. Allowing it to warm up and calibrating it appropriately based on the size of stone is very important. Also, it's important to note that some stones can give a false reading, such as moissanite.The addition of the jeweler's loop was really nice and is very well made. I have ones that I've purchased myself and I prefer this one. Very handy to have on hand.

This thing is difficult to understand and once you finally do get it, nothing happens. I tested my Moissonite, Cubic Zircon and Genuine Diamond, following directions and NOTHING HAPPENS!!! Apparently these tools have flooded the market, undoubtedly from China and absolute CRAP!! Felt cheap and did nothing. Apparently if you want accuracy you will need to invest $250 or more dollars on a better gadget or take it in to the jewelers.

Does exactly what it says! I am very happy with my purchase. It even came with a FREE jeweler's Loop too!This was definitely a nice set for the price! Its a have product to have for anyone that deals with jewelry or with stones often.

All these years I let jewelers and pawn shops fool me, never again. You may need to Google Celsius versus Fahrenheit temperatures to get it right tho.

Tested on 2 different diamonds and the real one showed so no complaints just it says it comes with a battery and it’s was a dead one so all and all it’s good
