Diecast model but my 18 month old loves machines but not the plastic ones. While he plays nicely with it he sometimes drops it and so far it’s all in one piece

Out of the box, this is a very nice model with quite a lot of detail and the vast majority of the model being made of metal. Initially, I was quite pleased with this, but my opinion ultimately soured shortly thereafter.I'm not sure what would compel the company to make the small rectangular piece that stabilizes the loader arm out of the flimsiest plastic I have ever seen, but sadly that is the reality.I had my eyes on some of the other models, but after this experience, I cannot proceed.
