The product arrived in a state which made it look like it had been banged around a bunch in shipping. The end result was that the LCD display was broken. But the mechanical parts of the protractor seemed to work well. It moved smoothly and had a knob with which you could lock the hinge.Since the state of the product was clearly the fault of Amazon's shipping, and since the vendor reached out to me with apologies, I'm leaving a 5 star rating.

I really like this device. I needed something to set the angle of my solar panels and this measurer worked perfectly. Of course I had to read the directions (oh no!) to figure out where the battery was, and generally how to use the device. Once you read the manual (here at amazon), and the tips given by various users, it's easy to use. I'm so glad I can set accurately set the angle on my panels, and I'm looking forward to using this device in other applications.

It's flimsy and can't keep zero for long. Closing it and zeroing on a precision ground surface doesn't do much. Closed and zeroed on a precision surface, measured an angle of a wall, closed it back on the same surface and it's off by a sixteenth of a degree. Within the tolerance of building simple frames and work benches so you get what you pay for.

Find your angle to your dangle in an instant. Also, don’t bite the battery because it’s apparently filled with chemicals and I did not know that before recommending that activity to other people.
