MY2600D Current Clamp - a good AC DC current clamp meter
This dc amp meter is a stable, safe and reliable instrument. The circuit design is based on the core of micro-intelligent dual integrated A/D converter IC, equipped with comprehensive overload protection circuit, novel and can be used to measure 600A AC/DC current, 600V AC/DC voltage, frequency, resistance, capacitance, diode, continuity and so on.
Safety Standard
This dc amp clamp meter is designed and manufactured in accordance with safety standards IEC61010, IEC61010-2-032, double insulation CAT III 600V and pollution class 2.
Hints
Since the probe on the test lead has an insulator cover. Before taking a measurement, simply grab the insulator cover and rotate it, it will come off so you can easily plug it into a household outlet.
To measure current, you need to clip the meter to one of the wires, not the entire power cord. The power cord contains two fire wires and a ground conductor. The current in the two conductors always flows in opposite directions, so the magnetic fields of the two conductors cancel each other out and the meter reads 0A.

NCV Detection: The amp meter clamp ac/dc has a non-contact voltage test with an audible and visual alarm. If the indicator light is on, it means that there is voltage tage, please pay attention to your safety!
HOLD function: The HOLD function records the currently displayed measurement value in the display so that you can read or record it at your leisure.
Automatic shutdown: If the multimeter tester is not used for 15 minutes, it switches off automatically.

I have several high quality (price) multimeters. They don't have DC amp clamp measuring function. I need it for my solar panels projects and for car repair tasks. That's the main function I mostly use with this multimeter and it is very accurate. The measurement is slightly off (not very big deal). I used it to measure the current an Alternator is charging the battery and the current the inverter is drawing from the Lithium battery. It is loaded with nice functions and came complete with everything you may need for any project. The display is a little bit small. Bright enough to be read. Very easy to use and you don't need to check the manual. Straight forward. All in one good package that's very affordable. I recommend getting one in each house. It has the Non Contact check function that allows you to check for power in outlets and even wires.The clamp side might be small but that's good sometimes when used in tight power enclosures.

Equivalent to the big dollar devices, but a very inexpensive price. So far they are accurate, easy to read, perfect size, clamp works perfectly, they are just as nice and just as bright as a more expensive unit.

I bought this specifically to measure low DC currents. It shows 3 ranges in the specifications of 6, 60 and 600 amps for both AC and DC measurements. This capability differenciated it from other meters that only had two ranges of 60 and 600 amps. Unfortunately this is in error and it only has two ranges like many other models.I have changed the review rating from 2 star to 4 star. While the above error in product capability is significant the unsolicited communications from the seller has been 5 star. And I have found the product to be well made and functional otherwise.

Need a clamp meter to check wires with or no current. This is wonderful device to get my jobs done. Not check the accuracy. Recommend.

DC amp meter is all over the place. It reads between .17 and -.10 amps with out being clamped on a wire after zeroing. The readings are way off when compared to a good meter. I have not checked other functions, returning for refund.

I just got this a couple days ago. The only thing I really care about is the DC clamp on ammeter. I couldn't test it at high currents, but I was able to test it at about four amps. And it did in fact work!! And it had two digits to the right of the decimal point. On the down side, although is is easy to switch the meter from its native AC to DC amps, the DC indicator in the LCD window is right up against the side of the window and is not particularly big or easy to see.P.S. Would it kill the manufacturers to make the battery door clear so we could see if the batteries are installed without having to remove the battery door?
