UPDATE. A piece of junk. Stopped working totally after returned date.I wish I knew of a better product. This remote does not work well. My older converter box gets more channels. I have a good antenna but the channels are going in and out. I thought I was getting a better converter box.If you need a paperweight this Ematic is for you. I just don't like throwing away money.My old ancient Magnavox still works and is clear.

This came faster than predicted. Was disappointed that this came looking like it had been used. I had read online that some of these recorders have power supply issues and I hope this one was returned and they repaired that issue. In that case I will keep it in hopes it will last. It formatted my thumb drive and so far recorded the programs I scheduled. Last night when watching a recorded show this unit went into closed caption with the text in the center of screen. I had to keep pressing the CC button to remove, but it kept coming back. I went to another recording and that didn't happen. For the heck of it I pressed CC and a message came up saying it was off. There was another time I was watching a recording and the screen kept going from full screen to the small screen, then it stayed at the full screen. These are small problems compared to other DVR boxes I've bought. Contacted by Ematic, I sent list of problems, received refund.

The unit was easy to connect to a HDMI port on the TV, and the manual was good enough to show how things were done with the remote control. I managed to find a place for my antenna that brought in most of the stations available in the Cleveland area. I was able to record shows with USB storage using the timer feature. However, about 10 days after I got it the remote was mostly ignored by the unit, and then the unit quit working altogether. After that it performed badly if at all, and I finally gave up on it. I returned the unit for a refund. I was very disappointed that it was defective since it had all the features I wanted in a digital converter.

With all the streaming technology out there, I still could not find my network TV shows that I had missed or forgotten was on. This works as a DVR. Just connect it to your TV via HDMI cable and connect your antenna to it. It has antenna IN and antenna OUT so I was able to hook it back to my TV to use antenna without having this unit turned on. The user manual has instructions to do this under PVR Recording.

I used this product for a non smart tv so we could watch over the air tv .Please note you may have to scan several times to get all of the channels,but other than that it has been working very well.

THE DIGITAL TV CONVERTER STOP WORKING IN TWO MONTHS NEED TO REPLACE IT .
