Installed this yesterday on my PM-1340GT lathe. Works. Would recommend.

It worked as expected as a tachometer for my wood lathe.1) A wiring diagram is provided but there are many YouTube vids available if you have problems. A power supply (not provided) and the sensor need to be soldered or joined as no connector is provided.2) It comes as 2 circuit boards mounted in a bezel so the rear is exposed and you may want to add a case.3) As stated in the description it takes 10-20 seconds to show 0 RPM after rotation ends and no provision how to adjust it shorter.4) I am not sure it reads the true RPM - it is consistently ~12% lower than my lathe though on 2 induction motors (a grinder and a pump) it reads within 10-15 RPM of the motors' specs. Probably a 'Close Is Good Enough' for the lathe's RPM setting and within range of induction motors' specs. Conclusion: Not perfect but a great bargain for the price - I'd recommend this product and buy it again.

Easy to use. Just be sure to get the magnet in the right way. I had to use a 15v power supply as it wouldn't start with a 12v one. An old cordless phone power supply did the job.

Seems like it would be a great tachometer, but even after spending 90 bucks to get my lathe drilled so I could recess the magnet into the shaft, I never could get it to read properly.

This unit (or one of the other colors) is my go-to standard part for adding RPM meter to old shop tools.
