I normally do cross stitch and found needlepoint to be okay. The stamped on pattern wasn’t the easiest thing to get used to. I found the stamped on pattern colors to be fuzzy in certain areas, for my aged eyes. Also, I still can’t figure out how to blend the stitches, especially when it will have a back stitched outline.The patterns are cute as a button. The finished stockings are quite a bit smaller than I wanted. Santa couldn’t put much into them. I selected my own backs, hanging loop and put in liners. The felt was adequate but I did not feel it would stand the test of time. My sons cross stitch stockings are 30+ years old, much larger and still look fabulous. Picture shows size differences.I was able to complete the penguin stocking in less than 3 weeks. It felt like I was at it 24/7 but I had a pre-Thanksgiving deadline line to allow time for it to be sewn into a stocking before Xmas.I would use this brand again. I will try to enlarge the next one on my own and use my same modifications to finish it.One other thing, you can’t run to the store to match their thread. You must call them to get additional thread. I know this because I needed more of a blue/black color for back stitching and couldn’t find it.

I love doing Dimensions projects because they put them together fantastic!! The designs are first class. The instructions are so well written and easily understood. But the important part that is they make it so easy for anyone to start the project. The materials are well labeled and presented in bundles. Other foreign companies in England and other US companies just throw all the materials into the bag with little or no instructions and you have to separate the materials to the color and then match them to the instructions. I am working on another Stocking currently and it is again so simple to do!!

I'm working on my sixth stocking kit from Dimensions. They have all turned out beautifully. The colors are vibrant and the sorter card is very nice since I don't have to make my own. I finish with a lining and fine wale corduroy for the back. Makes a very nice finished product. I prefer the 14 mesh canvas as it allows for a more detailed picture. It takes me about a year to do each one. Fortunately my grandchildren have been spaced out to allow me to do one a year.

I’m reviewing the stocking named Polar Pals. This one is stamped. Great for beginners, however I sent it back. I did not want a stamped one. It does not read that it is stamped in the description. Hopefully they will change that.

I created this stocking for my son's fiancee, as she loves penguins. The only thing I didn't like about it was the backing provided. Cheap and cheesy looking. I replaced it with dark blue crushed velour (which some might also find cheap and cheesy looking, but I love it) and I fully lined the stocking, as well. I sewed on fake fur, rather than stitch the white border and pompom on the penguin's hat, added a sprig of "holly" to the snowman's hat and "Bedazzled" stars on his scarf to give it a bit of zip. I also used white crochet thread with silver running through it for the snowman, rather than using plain, white embroidery floss, to give it a bit of dimension and sparkle. The name was done in embroidery stitches. I didn't like the busyness of the background, so I stuck with one solid color because I also thought this would appeal to Gina more. I always personalize what I create, and many of my projects are done "from scratch" without benefit of stamping. This was a particularly fun one to do!

Loved the colors and pattern. Warning --- I saved the blue background for the last. There are two similar colors and my template did not have the colors marked out. This was not a pleasant surprise, and I ended up placing the paper grid behind the stocking template to try to mimic the correct pattern. It was not perfect but no one would know. lesson here- review the whole pattern before starting so you don't have any surprises.There was plenty of yarn and I added a liner to the finished product before sewing on the backing provided.

I am furious- I opened the package 4 days after the last day it could be returned- without realizing that window has become very short- one month. Although this is supposed to be a wool needle point kit- the enclosed material is cotton embroidery thread only! It is unusable. And cannot be returned.

I Haven't finished this stocking for my granddaughter as of yet. But it is an easy needlepoint. Thread comes already split and place under a number chart. Please note, it is NOT yarn you use, it's embroidery 6 thread. Print and colors on the canvas in some sections is hard to see so you mustkeep looking at the color photo and diagram to see where stitching stops and starts.

I did not realize that this project is done on mesh. Also the instructions for the actual needle work are not very clear. It is hard to tell where to start and where to stop.
