I wanted a kit that had preprinted canvas and easy to follow instructions. This kit is awesome. The pattern is mice and bright and easy to see. All the floss colors extremely well organized. The instruction chart gives you great tips. I choose to not separate my floss strands and use it as is. Looks great so far.

I decided to read some reviews on this kit before ordering it. That's because I have done all my family's stockings in counted cross stitch, and this kit was designated "Needlepoint" wherever I found it. I love this design, but worried about my grandson's stocking being the odd one out in the family if it was stitched in yarn. So when reviews mentioned that this stocking was stitched mostly in floss, I was very happy. The design is also very compatible with the one I made my son-in-law last Christmas in counted cross stitch. Both are snowmen designs in similar colors in an overall pattern. My daughter and granddaughter have counted cross stitch stockings made from cross stitch magazine patterns that were intended to be a set (top detailed bands with a floral wallpaper pattern below).I decided to take a chance on this kit, since it was considerably less expensive than I've seen it before ($18.49 instead of $32 to $39). I was always satisfied with the quality of Dimensions kits in the past. I love that the colors are presorted and identified on two cards with photo representations of each color. There is also a printed color key on the canvas with numbers corresponding to the chart. The instructions are very clear, as always. The thread colors are very vibrant and there appears to be plenty to complete the design.I definitely recommend separating the floss into single strands and recombining them. In my experience, this is always helpful to improve coverage and to reduce knotting and tangling. It is well worth the time. I have never done needlepoint with embroidery floss before, so I am anxious to see the finished product. In my personal situation, I think it will help my new grandson's stocking fit in with the others. I am also thrilled I'll be able to finish it before his first Christmas since it's only February and he won't make his appearance until March!

The colors are so vibrant it’s a moderate difficulty. I like that it’s embroidery thread. There’s plenty of all the colors to finish the project. It’s easy to make a stocking out of and I lined mine. My 22 year old granddaughter loves it.

UPDATE: I finished my grandson's stocking barely before Christmas and am thrilled with the outcome. The colors are vibrant and, especially, the faces are quite engaging. You want to smile back at it. The color changes will be daunting for the less experienced.This is a very lovely project for sewers with a fair amount of experience. There are many color changes within sections, making it extremely rewarding to work through but tough for the less experienced. I'm about halfway through and really enjoying the work.

The colors in this stocking are stunning! A moderate level of skill is needed to navigate the color changes, but nothing a person with time and focus cannot overcome. The threads are separated on a very handy set of cards, and the diagram is clear and well-labelled, so finding the right color is easy. On a scale of one to ten, with ten being the most difficult kit out there, I'd rate this a five. There was plenty of thread left over. I ignored the instructions to separate the strands of each piece of floss...who has time for that? Instead, I just paid close attention to my stitch tension and had no problems whatsoever. The finished product came out nice and full. It is an absolutely wonderful stocking...so whimsical and wintry. I highly recommend it!

I have not yet finished the stocking back, and I did purchase a light quilt for the backing, and will line it in time for Christmas 2018. I am not a fan of floss for all the reasons mentioned in other reviews, but I did use the materials included. I DID NOT separate the floss except for the few places where the floss was a combined color set. I also loved the way the floss was separated in the package. It did take awhile, but the joyousness of the image is great and it was well worth the effort! And the colors are so vibrant. The biggest problem I will have is giving it to its intended recipient. I want to keep it!

A quality kit containing plenty of materials to complete the project (no running out of floss!). Do recommend using a frame to keep the work straight - it will make assembly of the finished project much easier.

Gold Dimensions has done it again with this beautiful Christmas Stocking. The pattern is easy to follow, the painting on the canvas is clear, the threads are separated to allow for easy access. I highly recommend.

Exactly as pictured and described. Bought velvet for backing as the felt was a bit “cheapâ€, but that’s no big deal. Colours are vibrant. Totally worth the money. Would recommend if u are looking for a needlepoint stocking kit. Finished size is good as well.
