I guess they say "5 pairs" because most people use, or replace these in pairs, since a center tap transformer and 2 diodes, makes a full wave bridge rectifier. I'm a DIY kinda guy, and I build my own power supplies from scratch, and these diodes are exactly what I need to fix one of my power supplies. It has a press in mount, for this style of diode, but I had to retrofit it to use a normal axial diode. Now I have it back in proper shape. The only problem I had (and it's minor), is 2 of the washers had a very bad cut, leaving it with unusually big sharp edge. A few seconds with a rotary tool fixes that problem, so not a big deal.

These are premium-grade power rectifier diodes at a very affordable price.When the diodes arrived, I had three old battery chargers that needed repair. The chargers were 6/12/24 volts. Those chargers had been collecting dust for years since I had switched to digitally controlled ones. All of them required diode replacements. I decided to utilize repairing them as a means of testing these diodes. With their 70-Ampere, 1,200 Inverse Voltage Rating, they surpassed the specs of the OEM diodes. I now have three working battery chargers sitting in my storeroom.

Replaced diodes in a 30 amp 24 v battery charger. Easy to mount and less expensive than the original obsolete automotive press in diodes.
