I know this light is supposed to be used for spotting art or things hanging on walls or disco balls, but I just needed it to light a scene I was filming. It does it's job well enough. Not very bright so I wouldn't use it for photo but for putting a spotlight on a subject in a dim lit scene it does it's job well enough.

I ordered this spotlight to use with a 8" ball/motor I already had. Since I had decided to mount this entire system on a track, it required a little modification. Ultimately it was successful and a very clean installation.When the spotlight arrived, I plugged it in and saw that it was functional. I then began disassembling it entirely in order to assess the best way for it to be mounted to my existing track 'connector cube'. While inside, I did notice that the LED used in construction is CREE - so that's a plus. The LED circuit board is mounted to the rear shell/heat sink using both screws and thermal paste. All things considered, I was quite impressed at the overall quality of construction and materials. I know I voided my warranty within a few minutes of receiving it, but from what I've seen inside, I fully expect it to last a while anyway.Photos show product altered to fit my application - the original power cord and original swivel bracket were removed in order for it to be fitted to my existing track donor fixture.Final photo is in action. The blue ring is an artifact from the intense LED light passing through the glass at the edges of the mirror ball producing a prismatic effect. There was plenty of room for adjustment to focus without that blue ring, but I actually kinda liked how it looked so I left it. **The actual light cast from this white LED spotlight does not have a blue ring at its edge.**Will update regarding longevity - but for first impression, a full 5 stars, exceeding my expectations.

Build has good quality however the light beam is not very strong if distant from subject.

Opened package was rattling and light was not as precise as advertised. Unscrewed case and lens was off. No adhesive. Tried a dab of super glue and just not a good result not happy.

At first I thought it was a bit much, but after a few whiskeys, I really began to love it. I originally wanted to make the star on my tree to light up. And boy, it sure did. I love it. The spot light is about 5' feet away on top of an entertainment center. The trick is to place it at the right distance. And I kind of even like the shadow it displays on the wall. In the photo it looks a bit overexposed, but actually looks very nice and glittery and gold. Good luck, I hope it works for you.
