It works but it does not have the nice features of the most recent Hopper. This unit is about 16 years old, it will do the job but no voice recognition and search of the newer DVR from Dish, which can be bought from them directly at a lower price (some $90). I made a mistake getting it but the installation costs more than the DVR and the wiring is different, a full new install.

Bad experience ever since I got it, I even got a new switch and still have to reboot the Reciever, comes on by itself, freezes. Just tired dealing with it. I am surprised Amazon carry's such bad piece.

Less than 1 yr and it already the recording fails. Skips part of the recordings.I believe this is a reconditioned piece and not new like advertised.

I ordered this under the impression they were new and my receipt at purchase even indicated that. They are extremely overpriced at 155 each and should be the re-manufactured pricing of about 59 each instead of a NEW equipment pricing. Very disappointed that Amazon does not take these reviews seriously and remove the sellers.
