About this item

  • Air Chief industrial interchange quick connect plug for connecting directly to a hose with a female NPT end to connect with a male NPT threaded connection
  • 1/4" Air Chief industrial interchange quick connect plug with a 1/4" female NPT threaded end
  • Valveless construction allows flow when disconnected
  • Brass for corrosion resistance, ductility at high temperatures, and low magnetic permeability
  • Interchanges with MIL-C-4109F/A-A-59439 specifications for quick-disconnect couplings for hoses and portable pneumatic tools, but not water or fluids, at maximum working pressures up to 232 psi (16 bar)

This Dixon DCP20B brass Air Chief industrial interchange quick-connect 1/4" air hose plug has a 1/4" female NPT threaded end, valveless construction, and connects to Air Chief industrial interchange quick connect couplers. The female National Pipe Thread (NPT) connection end connects to male threaded pipes. Brass is corrosive resistant, ductile at high temperatures, and has a low magnetic permeability. This plug's maximum working pressure (MWP) is 300 pounds per square inch (psi) (20.41 bar) in a temperature range from -40 to +250 degrees F (-40 to +121.11 degrees C), with a flow of 37 cubic feet per minute (CFM) at 100 psi. The valveless construction allows flow when the plug is disconnected. This plug conforms to MIL-C-4109F/A-A-59439 specifications for quick-disconnect couplings for hoses and portable pneumatic tools, but not water or fluids, at maximum working pressures up to 232 psi (16 bar).It is used for air service only.

Hose fittings connect, control, change the direction of, and terminate the flow in piping and hose systems. They are made of brass, stainless steel, galvanized steel, and other materials that resist corrosion, pressure, and wear. Hose fittings have various types of connections, including threaded, barbed, push-to-connect, dry disconnect, and others including those based on internationally-accepted specifications. Hose fittings are used in systems such as air compressors, automatic manufacturing operations, aircraft controls, and tire installation in industries including agriculture, mining, road construction, firefighting, and aviation.

Dixon Valve & Coupling Company manufactures pipe and hose fittings and accessories. The company, founded in 1916, is based in Chestertown, Maryland.

I bought one of these and some other brands of quick connectors for my air compressor. This coupling is the only one that works well. It feels like quality construction, most importantly on the threads. You can hand tighten these and the threads still won't leak air. Do yourself a favor (and save yourself time and hassle), and spend a little bit more to get something that really works well. You want quality items when safety is involved.

This is a solid brass fitting. I put it through a torture test asI have never used this brand before. I tried bending/crushing the coupling and then dragging it along the floor. It did well with the torture test and I am will to order more. When hooking up to your air hose be sure to use the teflon tape. Fits my quick release and had no air leaks. There is no reason to spend a lot on these couplings this brand will perform very well.

Same as all the others in my toolbox. God form and finished. Should seal, and perform well, as is expected.

These are a solid connections. I purchased them alongside other connections of lesser quality. I'd have never known just how inferior those were if not for having this as well for comparison. That said both are leak free but this one has much more brass around the threads and seems like a much heavier, more precisely manufactured piece.

Absolutely some of the best connectors EVER! Work well, with no leaks. Of course, when you are dealing with metal to metal connections, you need to use some silicone tape, but that's to be expected. Use can couple of wraps and no problems! Highly recommended.

works well, affordable, seems durable, i installed it into my air hose and they it seemed to get in fine.I used teflon tape to help slide them in, and seal the air leak.

Dixon and Amflo both make high quality plugs and couplers and we use a lot of the Dixon DCB 20 couplers with the reverse action collar. Bought 3 of these thinking they were made by Dixon. I immediately noticed that the brass was very light color and extremely light weight compared to other fittings, and there was no Dixon name stamped on the plugs. Then discovered they won't snap in the corresponding DCB 20 coupler. Your might get some real ones or you might get the cheap crap that I got. They do seem to work in the Amflo C20 coupler but the questionable metallurgy might make them unsuitable for safe operation. I'm past the return date when I installed so guess they will go in the metal recycle bin.

Works as designed which is what I was after, installed easily with white Teflon tape and doesn't leak or have any other problems
