if you live in the NJ/NY area, this jacket is not for cold Winters; it's not light as in a Fall jacket, but it's not for cold Winters either. I wanted something for this winter, and this jacket is not it. However, it is beautiful, fits as expected, and is priced well. My child is 14 (slim and average height for her age), so the sleeves are slightly too long on her. I wouldn't buy the 14-16 for her if she was 16 though (the jacket would be too short on her).
