I've discovered that my new firm mattress is a bit too firm. So, since I really can't buy a different mattress, I opted for this egg crate topper. It's the best decision I've made in ages! It arrived exactly on time, carefully wrapped up in a sturdy box. Once it was unwrapped it slowly sprang to life, which was fun to watch, and then was ready to use. BTW it has no smell whatsoever and is a pretty shade of blue! Apparently, there are different ways to place it on one's bed. I, personally, chose to put the topper directly on my mattress, points up, with my mattress pad and fitted sheet over it. But, everyone is different and it seems that there's no wrong way. Honestly, it's such a an improvement, and at a reasonable price, too! I very highly recommend this topper.

I originally bought this (Hospital size - 3") for my old arthritic dog and was going to make a few beds out of this pad for her.When I got it I decided to try it for myself.........OMGosh, heavenly. I have my own aches and pains, arthritis and lower back issues. This mattress topper has changed the game. In addition to my old age issues I am typically not a great sleeper............no longer. This mattress pad along with a occasional 5 mg melatonin puts me to sleep peacefully and I wake up feeling great. It also gives additional support if you have an older mattress (such as mine). I can heat up when I sleep but not found this to me any hotter than without it. Feels nothing like memory foam which is spongy, gross, hot ~ as well as a pain to get out of.I finally did order another Hospital - 3" for the old dog and I can tell when she gets up - not so creaky and in a good mood. This would also be great for a camping cot or dorm bed. No matter what your circumstance or age this mattress topper is an absolute WIN!!

I'm 50 years old and close to 300lbs, and circumstances have me sleeping on a futon that I am way too fat to be sleeping on. I ordered this with low expectations considering the price, but I just wanted a little extra something between me and the hard parts of the futon. This is a far cry from the egg crates of my youth and, in the case of this old man and the futon, has been utterly transformative. I do not have a finger on the pulse of the egg crate market so I don't know how this compares to others but if you, like me, are punching in the dark then I can at least tell you that this is a good one. Five star rating for value and being what I needed as well as better than expected.

I ended up returning this, which was a challenge because it comes vacuum packed! I bought the 4in thick and it was just way too soft. Made my bed feel flimsy and not supportive when getting up from sitting position. I think a one inch would be fine, but the deeper thickness is just not firm enough (for me anyway). Quality was great. Wish it worked for my use!

The best thing I can say about this product is that as advertised; It is a nice color blue. I bought this product to use after back surgery. This is not the 3 inch thich supportive medical grade egg crate foam I read about in the product description. My intent was to pad an anti gravity chair to use while I recovered from a double Lumbar fusion. The APPROXIMATE measurements of the pad are as follows, from the bottom or valley of the egg crate to the back side, the foam measures no more than 3/4 of an inch. From the same bottom/valley of the egg crate to the tip top of the egg crate is no more than 1 1/2 inches. No where on the entire pad did I find a spot that measured 3 inches. The density of the foam is very slight offering mostly squish and very little support. My solution: I went to a discount store and bought 5 gel and memory foam pillows on sale for $12 each. The sitting area of my chair is 21 inches wide and 72 inches long. The pillows measure 21" X 15" X 4 1/2" thick. I sewed their removable covers together and covered them with some cotton fabric. I added some velcro to the cotton cover to keep the pad in place on the chair. Now I have the perfect pad with a removable/washable cover. 21" wide X 75" Long X 4 1/2" Thick. Total cost $70 (plus an hour of sewing) and worth every cent.

Being pregnant, I have to sleep on my left side. Without the foam topper I would wake up because my hip would get sore. I haven't had that problem with this topper!

I bought this for a dog bed. Our Giant Schnauzers have been huge. The first was 149 pounds, the second was 129 pounds and we don't know how big out 7 month old puppy will be. When they stretch out, they are huge. I used this mattress topper for a dog bed. It's more like 2 1/2" rather than 3".
