It works great! I groom my own Yorkie, but I am terrible at it. So I found spots of long hair on her all the time. It’s handy to have this clipper so when I trim those long hair, it doesn’t make a mess. This is not for the full groom, the capacity to hold hair is very small, so it’s good for a small trimming. The noise of sucking hair is a bit loud but for rechargeable tiny clipper, it’s a great deal!

3/4/2024 update - I still like these clippers but have decided that the suction is really only good for the tiniest jobs like trimming the fur between the toes .. anything longer and the fur just gets stuck. I am planning to give this to my husband though for shaving his face. It should be fine for that. Also, it can be used as a regular clipper without the little bin. These dog clippers are very nice. I think in most ways, they are like others on the market, but they also suck up the fur. These are best for trims and touchups as the container for the fur is small and couldn’t handle a full groom though you could do more if you weren’t collecting the fur. The container that holds the fur is easy to remove and empty. They are comfortable to hold and quiet enough that they didn’t bother my dog. The blade is metal and it comes with several plastic combs/guides for various length trims. The instructions aren’t great. There is one button that isn’t mentioned and it wasn’t clear to me. It turns out it is for adjusting the blade height and perhaps would be clear to others but I haven’t used electric razors often. Though this is marketed for pets, I see no reason why it couldn’t be used for people too. I hate the little hairs my husband leaves in the sink when he shaves and I may ask him to try this.

Had an issue with fleas with my longhaired kittens. This simplified the de-fleaing. Its minimally noisy and vibratory, so the little guys got used to it but i recommend trimming nails first! Cup has to be cleaned frequently, but one charge was able to complete one large long-haired kitten, which helped reduce their anxiety.

The adj blade button really hard to move up and down …and the attachments fall off really easy. I liked the suction aspect of this tho. …

The added vacuuming noise doesn’t help with keeping things calm.I really don’t use this at all.

I got this to help with my poodles clean feet. It did it's job well enough as you can see. Fingers crossed for it's longevity. *"Pro groomer**

I have one of those pet grooming vacuums with trimmer which works well but I just find it awkward and cumbersome to use and clean. Not to mention it gets pretty loud for my bunny. Since I bunny has long hair, frequent grooming is required. This SmartTrail portable clippers is great because it gives me more agility to groom my bunny without the hose and vacuum getting in the way. I do like there is a built-in vacuum, but it is tiny and gets clogged with fine bunny hair very quickly. Suction isn't that strong but it won't pull hair either. However, having the cordless trimmer makes it easier to do more frequent grooming and despite this clipper being quieter, I still don't think my bunny likes the motor noise. There are 3 modes to the clipper: trimming, trimming with vacuum and high speed trimming and vacuum. I found I didn't have to use the high speed mode. I did have to use the plastic guide to ensure I'm not trimming too close to skin.

Is a simple clipper, a little large, but oh does the vacuum function work great (aided by frequent emptying).
