We were using a regular, large, outdoor can that smelled and leaked when it rained. Got this little guy and it's been great. It's tiny size took me aback at first but it's fine. For reference, that's Daisy, the three legged miniature Dachshund. We have another mini and the can is plenty big enough for the week. Then we take the bag out, tie it off at the top and toss it in the trash. The bags are plenty strong and they give you lots of them. The little peddle works great so you don't have to stoop to drop your poop bags in. The smell is mostly non existent now. Changing out the bags is a bit of a chore but not too bad. You just have to fit the bag around the interior container so it doesn't stick out the top. All in all we're very pleased with it.

Definitely helped reduce the smell, is fairly sturdy and nice to have an easy to use lid. But it takes some upkeep. The bags are not particularly sturdy and can fall apart even when replaced weekly which makes cleaning difficult and messy. Stronger bags would help. It would also be helpful to find a way to keep bugs from overtaking the inside the container, maybe a process for dispensing insecticide to keep bugs at bay automatically.

I love this. I hate taking the bags out once they are full, as they are full of flies. However, it does keep the smell in when closed. The pooper-scooper broke after 6 months, but I bought a new one and the trash can still functions fine.

This poop can is sooo much better than what I was using to collect our dogs' poop in the back yard. We've used it for about a month, and it makes things so much easier. Having a flip-up, self-closing lid is the best part of it. I can leave it out in the weather without rain getting in it or flies swarming around it. I fill it for a week, tie the bag shut on trash pick-up day, and throw it away in the garbage can. People have mentioned that the bags aren't very sturdy. I would agree, but I have only had one get a hole in the side of the bag. As an added precaution, I just use a plastic grocery bag to put the original bag in, and I tie them both shut before putting them in the bigger garbage can. The only somewhat negative comment I have is that the lid doesn't quite open all the way back. Other than that small note, it works great, and I highly recommend it!

Buying this was my husbands idea. I was skeptical. This is the best thing we’ve ever purchased for our new puppy!!!! We leave this outside and it prevents our garage or house from smelling like puppy poop!It comes with some bags for the container and once a week we empty the container into our regular trash. It’s a brilliant idea. Worth every penny. Easy to open with your foot.

I am guilty of sometimes not following my dogs into my backyard to pick up their poop. (especially if it's raining or snowing). Yes, yes I know it's my own fault but the one thing that could make this set better would be if the tray that you pick the poop up with was covered rather than an open top. You would be able to pick up a couple more poops that way.For reasons other than being lazy the odd time I've had it where I was shovelled it into the tray and it goes over the top and I have to pick it up again. Little things that would just improve the product.
