Access Control Keypad
Access control system with ID keyfobs suitable for mounting either indoor or outdoor in harsh environments. You can gain access through enter a pin code onto the keypad, use a proximity card, or use a pin code and proximity card. Single door multifunction standalone access controller or a Wiegand output keypad card reader.

Installation & Applications
- Remove the back cover from the keypad using the supplied special screw driver
- Drill 2 holes on the wall for the Self tapping screws and 1 hole for the cable
- Put the supplied rubber bungs into the 2 holes
- Fix the back cover firmly on the wall with 2 Self tapping screws
- Thread the cable through the cable hole
- Attach the keypad to the back cover

I used this as a replacement for my hard-wired garage door opener. I wanted exposed keys which eliminates all the remote openers I found. This unit is encased in epoxy making it very waterproof. The design is solid and attractive. I found it to be of better quality than the $200 unit it replaced. The keys have a great feel with lots of spring. Set up and programming was easy. You need to send 12-24v DC to the unit and, in my case, connect two wires parallel to an existing momentary door switch. To get this unit to make momentary contact for a grage door opener, you need to set toggle mode (#51#) and set the relay strike time to 1 or 2 seconds. The negatives are that the manual does not tell you to hit the # key after a pin entry; the key numbers are not backlit, although the keypad is; the wires could be longer, but they were adequate for my 6†wall; the manual is in tiny print, but you can download it from the Toncont site, and customer service did not respond to my email of 4 days ago. Even with these negatives, I still give the unit a 5.

When this keypad arrived, I was very impressed with how solidly made it was. The installation was a little challenging, since it didn't come with the 12v power adapter. No biggy, I got one for under $10 on Amazon. I finally got this installed and very quickly was able to program the RFID key fobs and the pin codes. The key fobs opened the door successfully, but unfortunately the operating instructions missed one important piece of information... how to enter the pin code to open the door. I tried the pin code only ... nothing. Then * followed by the pin code, and then # followed by the pin code... still nothing. Tried the chat support and while I was on with them, I tried one more thing ... pin code followed by # ... SUCCESS. Would have been nice if the instructions included this little gem of information. I was a happy camper with a working keypad. Then it got dark. I went outside to check out the backlight and found a major issue. The backlight only outlines the buttons and does not illuminate the actual numbers which were impossible to read in the dark. I am sadly having to return the keypad.

I was amazed by how insanely nice this is. It's just a top-of-the-line feeling product, and they didn't skimp on the quality one bit. The buttons are the nicest kind, like the kind you find on industrial stuff, like vending machines, that are pressed thousands upon thousands of times and never have any issues. This is just an EXCELLENT keypad and system in general, and I couldn't recommend it enough!
