I have a Gen 1 small block Chevy 350 this works on a 283 up to at least a 350 as long as you have a factory transmission and clutch. This saved my ass 2 years after clutch replacement on a crate motor swap when I threw away the tool my clutch kit came with. If you have an after market transmission you need to look into which one works for your new clutch, otherwise for original equipment installs on a classic Chevy with a manual transmission, this one is the guy circa 53-70 something pre emission controlled

The tool fits the clutch splines perfectly but the problem is that it sits very sloppily in the pilot bushing. Having a hard time getting it to align properly.

The pilot bearing size for M21 Muncie is larger than the Dorman part listed for a bbc 396. A few wraps of tape will fix this issue but it will not center the friction disk to the pilot bearing if not altered. Found out the hard way

If you dont have a spare transmission input shaft available, this is till your best option. Inexpensive and durable.
