Unit looks to be actually better quality than the Nissan OEM unit. By that I mean the knobs and buttons have a better feel during usage, solid clicks versus very little feedback from the Nissan unit's knobs and buttons. Feels more solid overall. Dorman did a good job making this unit. Having said that, if you are not mechanically-inclined or just do other minor car repairs here and there, be aware that replacing this unit can be challenging. As such, I suspect a lot of the Amazon Like New units for sale are units that customers bought only to find it was gonna be way more difficult to install than they originally thought and they were thus gonna be in over their head. By difficult to install I mean the decoupling of the two spin knobs cables and slider knob cable from the old unit and then the re-coupling of these cables to the new Dorman unit. If you are gonna tackle this replacement job, I strongly suggest taking this route and not even trying to replace the current cables. Why? Because they disappear into sights unseen that will be difficult to find their attachment points and thus also have to disassemble additional parts of the dash to even begin to reach the attachment points. Besides, they are fairly thick nylon clad cables and will continue to work just fine,.....the new cables are not necessary if the original ones are in good working condition. Anyway, if you don't mind some difficulty in this replacement job, go for it. Or if you have a mechanic who will be doing it for you, that's even better. At any rate, a great unit that works just fine. By the way, I replaced my unit because the A/C button stopped working altogether and the button alone is not replaceable. Tried "fixing" the A/C button alone once which ended up only lasting about a month.

this was the second time i have bought this controller , The fan speed level keeps braking and does not function at all , I bought a cheaper model and that one works just fine , i will know in the future if it lasts for a long time but it is better to pay $22.00 and it break quickly that $ 150.00 and it break in less than 6 months ! apparently Dorman products have become a garbage pile equipment pile seller !
