This was EXACTLY the part that I needed - the old vacuum switch was allowing a partial leak of vacuum into the line going to the hub lock actuator diaphragm mechanism, causing a "gear grinding" sound to come from the front axle, as the hubs were trying to partially engage even in 2 Wheel Drive. Replacing this switch made sure that vacuum was applied only when it was supposed to be. The old one was stuck with the ball plunger partially depressed, thus the leak in the old one. One installation hint: This part is tipped just a TINY bit forward when properly lined up to thread into the hole in the top of the transfer case. It does NOT go in perfectly vertical. Otherwise, you can spend hours trying to get it in! Also, make sure that you have the little pin on the switch lined up with the depression on the triple line going to it, so that the lines are not mixed up. Otherwise, it WILL NOT work properly!

Worked great at first; soon failed. OEM no longer makes them so this may be sadly your only choice. Plan on buying more than one even if you only need one.

The Dorman transfer case switch is made in Mexico; howver, the quality appears to be fine no issues when installing.

Didn't fix my problem, was a pretty tight fit, but in warmer weather it wouldn't have been so bad. Seems just as good as the OEM part. My defrost, face vents, and foot heater all run at the same time, and my 4x4 wont run. Its probably a vacuum leak or plugged lines. Not encoder motor or vacuum switch. The encoder motor makes a noise beneath the driver side, and the all lights work, but the front axle wont engage.Hopefully I help someone with this comment.Update: I had a plugged check valve. By the vacuum reservoir. Replaced it and now everything works as it should.

Bought for 2005 Jimmy, seems like a match to OEM. Installed easily and works as intended.
