The magnet to pick out clutch material from the fluid was glued in the wrong spot. So when installed, the magnet wasnt even in the fluid. Tried to remove it and put in correct spot, and it broke in half.

The stamped product was perfect. The “made in China dorman part number†along with the magnet to catch gear shavings was upside down. Meaning that the magnet will be outside of the gear oil and not catching the metal like intended. I would encourage the personnel to study the product and place the magnet in the proper location

I replace my rusted out cover on my truck and this one fit right and doesn't leak. I did use a genuine GM gasket with grommets in it so that may have helped. The only thing is the magnet is attached to the upper part of the cover not the bottom as the OEM one was. Oh well, hopefully all the wear is worn as the truck has 200,000 miles on it, don't know how long it will continue on.
