This worked perfectly for my 98 Forester!! The wire colors are a bit different. Red to red. Black to red /black stripe. Blue to Yellow.

I bought these to use on my 1986.5 Nissan D21 (hardbody) pickup. One of the previous owners had cut the plug off one side in some weird attempt at correcting a wiring problem. He had shortened the wires by a few inches by doing this, but these sockets came with more than enough length of wire attached to them already. This allowed me to avoid having to solder in an extension. This plug is very well made and has rubber around the connector to help prevent moisture from getting around the plugs. I added some conductive grease to the prongs on the headlight (my truck uses sealed beams) and these plugged right in, nice and smooth. The rubber coating protects the metal contacts better than the OEM plug and feels like it is built stronger as well. I was so pleased with it I went ahead and cut the OEM plug off the other side and replaced it with this.There are some pictures of it installed towards the bottom of this post on my build log if you want to see what it looks like in use - [...]

It all started with one of my headlights dying. When I was about the change the bulb, the wiring harness just crumbled in my hands. Not sure what happened there but now I had to change the whole harness. I love the fact that Amazon makes it easy to search for auto products that fit your particular car. In this case it was for a 2009 Honda Fit Sport. It was easy to find a few options that fit my car and that’s how I came across the Dorman Headlamp Socket.Installation was a breeze. Just stripped the wires in the car and the wires on the headlamp harness, then crimped the wires with water proof butt connectors. Heated up the heat shrink butt connectors to seal up the connection. Wrapped it all up with electrical tape for an added layer of weather protection and voila! Two thumbs up for the Dorman Headlamp Socket.
