I just got this product and all over the internt the job calls for removal of the axel after dumping the rear end ,losing that fluid and gasket to start the job......dont. Cut this dust shield in half ,HORIZONTALLY, avoiding cutting thru any holes , file burs and spray paint the new edge on both. Mount them with a smile in a few minutes instead of hours, apply 3 inch long bead of silicon on the backside of exposed crack.

These work great as replacements for my 20 year old, rusted backing plates. Ford no longer carries these so your options are limited.
