Replacing emergency cable on truck. Part of re calibrating is re tensioning the cable. Well my twenty year old trucks tensioner was all rusted up so snapped it off and put this new bad boy on there to take its place. Sha- ZAM!

I had a hard time finding a parking brake adjuster for a 2005 Durango, which OEM adjuster is long discontinued. This one is almost identical to OEM with a few tweaks, like flipping the bolt. I don't have high hopes for the coating to prevent rust, so I hit it with some rustoleum before installing. It did make tightening the bolt a bit more difficult, but I think it will last longer in the rust belt this way.

These things get rusty, and when you are replacing a few cables you will probably have to use a grinder to cut it off. The factory one on there is hardened steel with a lock washer bolt, chances are it will not be reusable. Used 24 inch bolt cutters and had to force it to the ground to break that bolt.Dodge ram truck doesn't need the black bracket, people use it if they have a jeep.Just saying that because it's a dodge truck and they like to rust, thought maybe it fell off, no, part comes in the kit as per instructions on the box( for jeep).
