  • This is the only listing on Amazon for authentic Dorman oil filter housing 926-959

The oil filter adapter on millions of Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram V6-powered vehicles often leaks oil when its plastic housing warps from harsh underhood conditions. As the plastic eventually degrades from heat and chemical exposure, it can even crack from simply tightening the oil filter cap during oil changes. When it fails, replacing it with an OEM housing could mean the same issues again in the future. This patented Dorman OE FIX filter housing is made entirely of aluminum for a more durable replacement of the failure-prone OEM housing to help prevent future leaks. The housing comes complete with mounting and intake manifold gaskets for an effective repair. The kit also includes the oil cooler, oil filter element, and oil filter cap to update the vehicle to the latest design.

High quality product from Dorman. Much better than the crappy plastic one from Chrysler. Heck, even the packaging it came in was so nicely done compared to most car parts you buy. Came with all the bolts and seals needed to install. The instructions are good for the removal and install of the item itself. I do want to note a few things though:1) You need thread sealer if you are reusing the old oil pressure (Dorman 926188) and temperature sensors (Dorman 926427. I bought new Dorman ones shown here, which come with sealant already applied to the threads. The old ones aren't easy to get out. If you want to torque the sensors (15ft-lbs), you will need a 27mm deep socket for one of them which is pretty big. The other is smaller.2) Make sure to remove the cap and filter from the old unit before removing or lots of oil will drop out the bottom.3) Have a cheap hand pump from harbor freight ready to suck out all the fluids that drain out the bottom, namely oil. Make recommendation 2 above will help, but I feel there will still be a lot of fluids as it was the Exxon Valdez spill under there.4) Doing an oil change following the install would be a good idea as coolant, oil, and dirt mix together in the engine trough.5) You will drain coolant from the radiator but only about 2/3 of a gallon I bought way more than I needed.6) My van had lots of oil in the upper and lower intakes so I replaced the PCV valve and cleaned all the oil out with engine cleaner (for plastic intakes) and throttle body cleaner (for the throttle body). I also bought an oil seperator to install later when it comes in.7) This is a good time to replace the spark plugs also (NGK 93175, .044 gap, 13 ft-lbs) if over 100k miles.8) It is helpful to have instructions such as Alldata or Chiltons to remove the parts. Some things like disconnecting the fuel pump harness and starting the car to remove fuel pressure before disconnecting the fuel rail is a good idea. You also do not need to remove the electric fan if you just bend back the two front upper intake metal supports with a crow bar. Watch a You tube video.Good luck and thanks Dorman!

Needed a quality replacement for the oil cooler/filter housing on a 2019 Cherokee (KL) 3.2L pentastar v6 with approximately 62k miles on it. It began to leak oil and I elected to replace the assembly to save future trouble.Normally I’m no fan of Dorman but this product looks and functions well for the money (especially compared to the OEM). You do need to transfer the temperature sensor and oil pressure switch over, install new seals for the oil cooler and coolant return connection to the block. (Seals Included) It even came with the upper and lower intake gaskets. The kit is well thought out. Take your time and clean the valley of the block. A fluid evacuator during removal could minimize the mess and use of tons of towels to clean up the oil/coolant that inevitably comes with breaking the connection between the block and cooler assembly. I still recommend pinching off the coolant hose to the cooler.Initial fit went well but, watch the threaded holes for the cooler in the block. If they fill with coolant or oil, it can hydrolock the bolt and cause you to strip out the hole. Clean the threaded holes prior to installing. The more time you clean, the less second guessing you’ll do after everything is back together. Good luck out there!

Common issue with Dodge,Chrysler,Jeep. Had small oil leak which appeared under the transmission. Shined light down into engine valley by oil filter cap and saw pooled oil. Bought this for my 2016 Jeep Wrangler Sahara Unlimited 3.6L and replaced the cheap plastic OEM Oil Filter housing/ cooler with this. Made sense to put aluminum on aluminum. I did purchase Mopar OEM O-Ring set instead of using the Dorman set that comes with it. I did use the included intake gaskets. I also ordered dorman oil and temp sensors for this unit. Have had absolutely no issues. Would definitely recommend over OEM!!!

I'm giving this 5 stars at present because so far, with only about 50 miles and about maybe an hour on it since the install, it appears there's no leaks. I've read some not so good reviews on the Dorman version of this oil filter/cooler unit and have read some good ones. Before the installation, I did a very thorough inspection of this unit BECAUSE of some complaints I'd read about concerning poor quality and machining. Well, I found no issues, no poor machining, no "burrs", no rough edges or any other potential flaws or issues. I checked all flat surfaces with a straight edge and all were/are dead flat with no bridging, concave or convex appearances. Some complain that the oil cooler needs to be assembled to the oil filter housing prior to installing the unit as a whole. Yes, SO WHAT! Big deal! I actually prefer that kind of scenario. You get to see the fit and finish of those two components prior to the install. And, by doing it yourself, you determine the actual torque of the fasteners, not anyone else. 'Nough said. I installed all O-rings and seals per any instructions, made dang sure all surfaces were sparkling clean and then installed the complete unit into the engine valley with the supplied fasteners. I evenly torqued all fasteners in the appropriate pattern all the way to the final torque spec.So far, I'm very happy with this Dorman aluminum oil filter/cooler housing. Time will tell.

I installed this in my 2017 Jeep Cherokee v6. It was a bit of a pain to install due to the cars engine itself. Ultimately, it was relatively easy in the end. I truly only needed to replace the rubber gaskets on the old one. However, I decided this would be best vs. The original plastic oil filter housing.

The product is made in Malaysia and is of low quality. Why was it not made clear that it was made in Malaysia? I want American made. In general, the quality is bad. There is no professionalism in the final appearance. Aluminum alloy inserts are not equal and I do not recommend purchasing them.

After smelling a strong odour coming through my heater vents, I initially thought the exhaust was leaking but the pools of oil rapidly forming under the car let me to research leaks on the Grand Caravan, and this became the number one culprit.I watched a bunch of videos online about how to replace this, and as a fairly competent home mechanic with basic level tools I took my time, checked and double checked everything, and had the whole thing done in probably 3-4 hours outdoors on the driveway. It's been a week and no more smells or oil leaks. It's not the cheapest replacement part, but the quality appears to be good, and there is some basic assembly required so make sure you have all the tools before you start.A lb-in torque wrench is a good idea if you want to be precise as well as something like water pump pliers or hoseclip removal pliers. Car trim removal tools proved really useful for loosening old hoses. Also, I'd recommend getting an oil transfer/extractor syringe that will make light work of cleaning out most of the pooled oil that will have collected in the valley between the cylinder banks. Much better than soaking it up with paper towels. In some online guides they will instruct you to remove the fuel hose from the injector manifold - i found it easier and quicker to remove the airbox, leave the fuel rail connected and simply flip the injector manifold over to where the airbox used to be.

Installed a few months ago and still no problem. Throw away the plastic OEM junk and replace it with Dorman alloy parts. That's the way to go.

Dodge Grand Caravan GT 2017. 3,6 VVT Pentastar. Excellent kit, has all the necessary gaskets and fasteners. The installation instructions are included in different languages. Excellent detail quality. There are minor defects in aluminum casting, they are easily eliminated by the fillet.
