This is a good cable for the driver's side of the 2001 Mazda B4000 SE extended cab. Same as the Ranger. But the keeper was very difficult to push inside the back of the brake assembly plate. I used a round file to open it up a tad bit the used a flathead screwdriver and hammer to tap the keeper in the housing. Went smooth after that. Glad to have my e-brakes back.

Matches OEM cable dimensions very well. As a professional auto technician with 20+ years experience, I can confirm this is a quality aftermarket replacement part.

Amazon has a bad habit of pairing parts that aren't for the same vehicle and this was ordered with another cable, but now have to return it. The one I needed was 10 dollars more and paired correctly with the first one I bought for the passenger side. The lengths are also an issue and had to check on the Dorman site. I have a standard cab with a 7' bed. Having an emergency/ parking brake on a manual truck is more critical than an automatic. But some sites say it should always be used on both.

Good replacement for a rear Ford Ranger parking brake cable. Well constructed. My only complaint is that the locking fingers were too big to fit through the existing hole in the drum brake backing plate. I had to pry them off, feed cable through, and re-clamp it on.

Worked perfect for 2000 4wd Ranger. Patience installing but works great.
