I probably should have guessed this, as it’s just a factor of form and function, while it does allow you to double up crossbars, it’s also wider than the upright so it creates a larger gap in the drape at the top. As I’m using it in my studio and don’t mind adding a clip in the front to keep the blackout drapes better closed, it’s not the end of the world but in a live event situation, disguising the gap could be more of a pain?
