For anyone with a bowl-lift KitchenAid mixer in 5.5 or 6 quart this hook is MUCH BETTER than the original one. It reaches almost to the bottom of the bowl but doesn't scrape. The first one arrived with a burr at the top that did not allow it to attach, but the replacement fit like a glove. No need to scrape the bowl anymore to incorporate all of the flour. There are other stainless steel ones that look the same but are short like the original, so make sure the 7.2 inch one is the one you get. You won't regret it.

Able to be put in dishwasher unlike the one which oxidizes like I had. Nice and easy to use and clean.

No chrominance or coating to fall off, very hefty, way less expensive than the official hook.

6qt bowl lift, and the hook doesn't fit on the shaft. The hole is machined too small. I measured everything with calipers, and every hole is too small by 2 or 3 thousandths of an inch.

I am so excited about this. I do a lot of baking and I found out my old attachment had lead in it. So I wanted to replace. This one is heavy duty. Sliiiiightly larger but fits like a glove. Which means it works so much better. I no longer have to scrape the bowl to get the flour at the bottom and it even makes the process faster for shorter mixing times. Such a great purchase. I’m so excited.

I had to grind out the channel a bit with a rotary tool in order for it to lock in correctly.Maybe it was the wrong model but it was a 6 qt so I don’t know. Works fine now. Good stainless finish.

Tried this instead of the coated hook that comes with pro 600.. don’t bother. The coated hook is far better, even though dimensional they were identical the dough just wraps around the stainless hook and doesn’t knead well. Sent it back.
