When this product arrived, it was very easy to see that it wasn’t some cheap stuff. It was made of good quality, it had the metal weight that I was looking for, and one of the sides fit perfectly. The other side, was my fault because I got the wrong adapter. So nothing wrong with this product, it is amazing, but I could not use it because of my own fault so I returned it.

I live in a rural area of Texas with no access to natural gas. Past years have proven that electric grid is unreliable. I bought a couple of 100 pound propane bottles and kept them filled for emergencies. I used both this winter and was glad I had these adapters for fast and simple connection to portable heaters. They are simple to install and provide sufficient gas from to support large, ventless heaters. Just what I needed for the large propane cylinders.

This adapter does exactly what it says. It converts a Prest-O-Lite (POL) tank to one with a connector that is compatible with a QCC1 propane accessory. HOWEVER, unlike a real QCC1 valve, this does not have the check valve that prevents the flow of propane if no QCC1 compatible accessory is attached. If the valve is opened without an accessory attached, you will have a high pressure propane release and the explosion hazard that entails. But my task is simple. I have an old, well out of certification tank that is nearly full of propane and I'd like to consume it rather than waste the propane and have to deal with the disposal fees for a full tank. This is a cheap and easy solution to this problem, and when used with care, is also the safest way to deal with your old tank before you retire it.4/5, would buy again for this purpose but not for permanent use.

I have old, pre-OPD tanks that I fill out of my big house tank. This allows me to use them on newer propane appliances.ONE CAVEAT: the male threads that go into the tank are left-hand thread, the connector on the appliance is right-hand thread. So the adapter must be tightened with a wrench to avoid loosening it when attaching the appliance.AGGRAVATION: All my old-style regulators have a 7/8" hex connector. I grabbed my 7/8" wrench to tighten the adapter, only to find they made it with 15/16" flats!
