Precautions for selecting a DPS model
Before purchasing a DPS, be sure to check that the DPS model is compatible with your motor specifications.
- MY-PS-7.5 model should be used for a 5HP(3.7kW) 15amps 3-phase motor.
- Check the motor’s rated current(A), horsepower(HP), and voltage(V). DPS is a product that drives a 200V-240V 3-phase motor with a single phase 200V-240V.
- DPS must be used appropriately for each motor specification. Be sure to refer to the DPS selection table to select a DPS model appropriate for the motor specifications.
- One DPS must be used for only one motor. One DPS should never be used on multiple motors.
- If you are unsure about selecting a DPS model, contact the seller or manufacturer.
- After purchasing, thoroughly read the user manual enclosed with the product and then install the DPS on the motor.
- Installation method is simple. Simply connect the 2 input wires to the DPS input and the 3 wires of the motor to the DPS output.
What is DPS?
DPS is a product that can run a 3-phase motor with single-phase power.
As you know, a wide variety of commercial and industrial electrical equipment require 3-phase power.
Most residential homes and small workshops are not been installed with 3-phase power by electric utilities, because it costs significantly more than single-phase installation.
Due to the unavailability and high-cost installation of 3-phase power network, a phase converter is very important to address this problem.
That's why DPS(Digital Phase Converter) is a very excellent item for your 3-phase motor operation.

How to choose DPS model for a motor.
- DPS model should be selected according to motor specifications.
- Be sure to select a DPS model suitable for your motor specifications.
DPS is very easy to install on the motor than other products.
DPS product characteristics
- MY-PS-7.5 model should be used for a 5HP(3.7kW) 15amps 3-phase motor.
- Do not use a DPS model that is not suitable for your motor specifications. Please check the voltage(V), rated current(A), and horsepower(HP) of the motor, and select a DPS by referring to the DPS model selection table. In special cases, be sure to consult with the manufacturer and seller.
- One DPS must be used for one motor only.
- Input/output voltage of DPS is 200V-240V.
- The voltage of the motor should be 200V-240V.
- The efficiency is around 90% when using a DPS model that matches the electric motor specifications.
- The thickness of wires should be suitable for current.
- DPS does not operate on 3-phase motor installed with 3-phase brake. DPS only works on 3-phase motor installed with a single-phase brake.
- You can check 3-phase on the output of DPS when your motor is running. If your motor is not running, you can’t check the 3-phase from the output of DPS.
- If a magnetic contactor is connected to the motor and DPS, you must connect two control wires of the magnetic contactor to ‘U’ and ‘W’ of the DPS output. If the motor does not work even though the power is turned on after connecting the DPS and the motor, please try swapping the positions of wires connected to ‘U’, ‘V’, and ‘W’ of the DPS output at least 3 times.
- When the motor load is less than 50%, there may be an imbalance from the voltages and currents output from the DPS. When the motor load is over 50%, voltages and currents will be balanced.

I used this DPS unit on a 4.8 HP 3-phase Italian motor which was on an old stroke sander, wired for 230 volts. Wiring it up is brain dead simple. It took right off with plenty of power. I solved the rotation issue by switching 2 of the 3 leads for the 3-phase---got it fixed the first time. I thought this was a great / cheap solution--- way cheaper than rotary conversion.So it worked—— HOWEVER— this unit made my sander sound like a freight train (very alarming!) and I knew I was tearing it apart inside. I sent it back, then a local electric motor company made a different solid state converter for me, and that worked, but sounded like a jet engine in my garage!!Finally, I bought an American made rotary phase converter (after much down time) and my sander now runs PERFECTLY SMOOTH, like it should. So, save your time and money and get a REAL converter.

Finally got around to installing this unit on my 5hp 3 phase table saw. Seemed to work okay for the first few days. Then it would surge a couple times on start up before holding and working okay. Last night after running for maybe two hours off and on, the amperage limit tripped on the saws magnetic switch. Reset it and tried again and it started up and ran, but it sounded kinda weird, looked down and saw smoke pouring out of the DPS unit. Really sucks that I internationally bought a unit rated for 7.5hp to run a 5hp saw, just as I was advised, and felt good thinking I had plenty of overhead before I would overwhelm the unit. Smoked and fried in the first week. And no way to contact the seller through Amazon because I didn’t get around to setting it up for a few months and now I am out of the return policy time. Waste of money.

This product saved me a bunch of money.The customer service is excellent and they answered all of my questions even on the weekend. I had ordered a 5.5 hp water pump online that cost over $1600.00 however did not realize that it was three phase. Then I was stuck. I didn’t want to pay the power company to install three phase so I started shopping around and found this. Very easy to hook up and has worked flawlessly for over 300 hours of run time now. This is the first amazon review that I have ever done and I have buying off of here for many years, that should tell you how impressed I am with this product. Thank you .

I purchased this Phase Shifter a little over a year ago and ir has performed flawlessly. I would of rated this four stars but it is very difficult to reach customer service. I had a problem but it ended up being something other than the DPS. But is was difficult to reach customer service, when I did reach them they were responsive and helpful. That is the only reason for it not being a five star review. The DPS was easy to install and has worked great.

Let me start by saying that I hired one of the best electrical companies in my area to do the install. It seemed to come together easily enough, but in the end my machine didn't work properly. It would turn on, and I would hear the motor running, and then once I put the motor into action, it would run very noisily until it shut off with an error code indicating that there wasn't enough power to make the motor run properly. Had an electrician come out and verify everything was hooked up correctly. It was hooked up correctly, but when we tested the three phases one wouldn't generate any power. U to V and U to W were reading the correct power out, but W to V was giving me no power. At this point I can only assume this is a faulty product. Now I'm stuck even longer with a very expensive piece of equipment generating no revenue for my business while I look at further options.

I purchased this unit to do a 3 phase conversion on a 5.3 HP CNC Spindle. My plan got changed so I really did not even use it or hook it up. The support from the seller was absolutely great. They were very helpful and insistent on ensuring you are ordering the right product immediately after your order is submitted. These units are for single driver only and each model is designed for a certain Horsepower rating. The Item came almost 3 weeks early from the estimated shipping duration.
