This thing is kind of essential for using cut off wheels, I’m surprised it doesn’t come with the tool as you basically can’t use it without it. Obviously you can, but it’s a lot less comfortable as it throws sparks and plastic and whatever else you’re cutting toward you, because you can’t always cut in the most ideal position. If you have the tool, this guard fits, I would definitely recommend it

Got this for the initial purpose of cutting off a sink drain lock nut.Does a great job.Just wish it was maybe a wee bit longer and wider to block some more sparks.

I got this for peace of mind since I use my dremel as a precision cut off tool 90% of the time. I always felt nervous making cuts with it with no shield. This attachment is great for your protection and it actually helps absorb some vibration from the tool. Another attachment that helps a lot with vibration is the dust blower which I have attached as well. With both attachments I barely feel any vibration out of my 8250 at full speed. It's so smooth. I absolutely suggest everyone buy this shield attachment. It's a must have.

Since it's so hard to find compatibility information, I thought I'd let everyone know - the Dremel A550 shield fits the Wen rotary tool model 23190 just fine. There's even a nice bit of overhang above the cut-off wheel, providing extra coverage in case things get explodey.
