Your cart is empty.Drill America DWDTS series High-Speed Steel taper shank drill bit. Made to fit morse tapered holders. Designed to perform in a broad range of materials in the iron and steel families. It has a black oxide surface treatment that is abrasion resistant, reduces chip welding and improves chip flow. High-speed steel tools are good for most general purpose applications, offering a combination of hardness and toughness for wear resistance. Black oxide treatment adds lubricity and creates small pockets on the surface of the tool that act to hold coolant near the cutting edge. Morse taper shank allows the tool to be inserted directly into the machine's spindle to facilitate high-torque applications such as large cut diameters. When run in a counterclockwise direction (right-hand cut) spiral fluted tools evacuate chips up and out of the cut to reduce clogging.

I have three of these for my lathe's tailstock. Wonderful for drill larger holes to accept boring bars. Accurate and sharp. I touch up the end with a diamongd hone once in a while.

I ordered a 1/8" drill bit and received the correct package but with an 1/16" bit inside. I returned the pair and was sent the right size. Good bits.

There is quite a bit of slop when I put this in the morse taper of the headstock of my latheIt wobbles, so I am not sure how well it will work.I have not used it to drill anything yet, juts checked the fit.But it should not wobble.

Great price for a 1.5 inch diameter HSS bit. Small stain on the taper but perfectly serviceable and brand new. I am very satisfied. Scotch Brite took out the stain.

The bit was (is) great, but it took 2 weeks to arrive, although at purchase time it indicated 1 week.
