I have been using these mostly in softer materials like plastic and thin sheet metal with great success. Convenient 3 in 1 bits that drill, tap and countersink. You really need to use a drill driver that has speed control that can go really slow. The first time using one I didn't think about how fast I was running the drill to make the first hole. I was going way to fast while getting the drill to make the hole and once the hole was made the tap threads gripped the material and dove in and reached the counter sink cutter before the drill stopped spinning causing it to cut away the new threads and making the hole to big to use. Lucky it was a test hole and I learned that I needed to be in the slowed speed available. In plastic I found that for the best control to drill a small pilot hole with a normal bit and then change to one of these bits. On super thin materials I even used it with a manual hand bit driver for precise control. I have used them in wood several times and as long as you clean the shavings out of the hole well it works well. I still have not tried these in any thick hard material yet and probably won't. The bits are not very long and I just don't think they would have enough room to form the threads correctly.

Broke after just one use. I tried using the 5m tap drill bit on an aluminum extrusion, and it snapped in half halfway through. The quality is terrible, and I wouldn't recommend buying these.
