What is the Fizz Infuser and how does it work?
The Fizz Infuser is placed directly on the bottle, so the OmniFizz itself never comes into contact with liquid. Other devices connect the bottle directly to the machine, creating a mess that's impossible to clean. The Fizz Infuser has a two-stage pressure valve, so pressure release can be easily controlled for a slow release to prevent any mess with heavily foaming drinks.

I love this thing! Carbonates almost anything and does a great job at it. I mostly use it for water. Cold water is best. Easy to clean, small kitchen counter footprint, no electricity or batteries needed.

I’d been thinking about getting a home soda machine for awhile. When the price of 12 packs of Diet Coke hit $10 I decided to pull the trigger. I’m so glad I did.I picked the DrinkMate from the other available home soda machines because it’s the only one that fizzes almost any liquid, so long as there’s no pulp. The others only fizz water. I haven’t tried anything besides water, but I like having that option.This simple little machine is a wonder. No electricity required, its powered solely by the carbonated bottle, which screws into the unit with an easy twist. 4 quick pushes of the button and a little syrup and I have 32 oz of Diet Pepsi. And it takes up very little countertop space. Mine is squeezed between the microwave and toaster.Which brings me to my lone quibble, although it’s not DrinkMate’s fault. The only name brand soda syrup available on the market are a few Pepsi brand flavors. They’re all the real deal and taste good. But I’m a Coca Cola guy and I miss that flavor. There are numerous generic options available however and I plan on trying those out.As far as the economics of making your own soda at home, it’s a no brainer. A four pack of Pepsi syrup is about $15 and each bottle replaces two 12 packs. DrinkMate offers coupons on their website for CO2 refills to offset the cost, and the bottles last a long time. Also, you’re not locked in to using DrinkMate brand bottles. You can replace them with lower cost alternatives. If you drink a lot of soda like me, then this DrinkMate pays for itself in about a year.

It is amazing what this will carbonate. I have been experimenting for about two weeks and it has been very interesting. It is easy to use, the amount of containers that come in the party pack is outstanding. I like the second fizz infuser, so if you were making more than one bottle your wouldn’t have to change caps (though I kept mine for a backup).

I bought this when my sodastream broke because it was highly recommended by a you tube channel focused on making cocktails. Sounded nice to be able to carbonate things other than water. In practice, we did this once or twice and it didn't work great; took a long time to offgas things without them getting foamy, and by the time you are done the carbonation level is much lower than what you get with plain water.The real issue though is that the machine and bottles are poorly made. It happened regularly that the bottles would open fine the first time after carbonation, then you seal it up after taking a drink, and the second time you open it the cap flies out like a champagne cork, but more violently. This never once happened with our soda stream.When trying to carbonate, you insert the bottle into the slot, then rotate the bottle back into the machine like a lever and apply the gas. Unfortunately, several times we tried this and the bottle holder was jammed and would not move. First couple of times we managed to fuss with it until it went back, but the final time it absolutely would not budge. We ended up applying force to get it to move, and then the CO2 nozzle ended up being pushed up into the machine somehow and would never work again. You put the bottle in and press the button and the CO2 just sprays out into the air without reaching the bottle. Again, never once had an issue like this with the soda stream.We will be going back to our soda stream, the ability to half-fizz juices and teas is not worth the clear defects in this machine.

I bought the Drinkmate Omnifizz to use on a boat to allow us to have fizzy drinks anytime and to limit can and plastic bottle waste. The Drinkmate Omnifizz worked amazingly well. There is a learning curve on how long to press the button to add gas but this is not unique to this product. The Drinkmate Omnifizz takes up minimal counter space. It is sturdy. Ours fell over a few times while underway due to not storing it away and it works fine. We enjoyed being able to make fizzy water or drinks anytime we wanted. So refreshing after a day in the salt water. Fizzy Gatorade was tasty! Highly recommend if you like fizzy drinks and are tired of the can/bottle waste.
