Put this and a new belt on to help solve a squeak. Fixed the problem, so hopefully it stays that way.

1991 Silverado 5.7L. First picture is the old junk (after market belt tensioner) that was replaced probably 15 + years ago and I have been nursing it along. The outer aluminum ring on this one cracked a few years ago and this created a condition where it tilted and the bolt slowly came loose and the pulley was riding and wearing poorly on the engine side. So, since I didn't want to be driving along and have that old piece of junk fall off inside of the engine compartment, I replaced it with a name brand Gates OEM clone. Second picture is the breaker bar with a 15mm socket (bottom) and a 1/2" wrench with a 16mm socket (top). Remember that if you decide to keep the pulley from the old tensioner, that 15mm bolt is righty loosey, lefty tighty. SO, set your impact wrench to turn right to remove that particular pulley bolt.

It seems to have good tension and I received the same pulley as featured. As long as it lasts for a while I can't complain. The fit was excellent, and it arrived in quick time.I did not care for the local brick store prices for parts that didn't seem any better. I found the on line sellers more competitive on this part.
BIG C.

The belt tensioner is fine but the pulley on it is a little wobbly. It's working fine but I don't want to pull it back off and send for a replacement, but price is right and I would recommend this product to anyone.

Belt tensioner did not last long had to purchase a new one. Hopefully it will last longer than this one 🤞ðŸ¼

I replaced this while chasing a squeak in my engine compartment and installed a new belt at the same time. I think the tensioner was bad as it was the original and my Yukon is a 94. Works well and the squeak is gone. So far 5 star
