I bought this to use under an electronic drum kit in my home studio/den/man cave to protect the wall to wall carpet from being stained or frayed by the rubber feet on the frame and the velcro under the kick and hat pedals. For this it will function just fine. The appearance is attractive and it's thick enough for my intended use. It was easy enough to iron the big creases out. That being said I would not use this on a gig. For that we have heavy rubber backed commercial rugs that can stand the abuse. With some drummers I know this wouldn't last two gigs before they wore holes in it. But for home to protect your carpet or hardwood floor? Yes, works great!

We set this up for my sonรขโฌโขs drum set and it is a huge help! It keeps his set from sliding everywhere while he practices!

*I didn't use this for a drum set - I'm using it as a clean work surface for small electronics work, as it's smooth and large. It's laid out across a workbench and serves excellently in that role.I had to lay it out with weights to remove the wrinkles from shipping, but time and weight smoothed it out easily.

I purchased this for my E-kit, unfortunately the material is very thin and does not adhere well to the velcro on the bass drum kick. I see some ppl are using this for office chairs which is probably a better use for it. Would not recommend for drum set
