I got the hydraulic pro version without back, and my intended use is as my dedicated guitar stool. I noticed the base model is a very different design, and is not well reviewed as of yet, and I was hoping the design difference would make all the difference. Here are my thoughts:- this is a very thick, very comfortable seat (which is the major difference from base model). There are two strange scoop marks in the seat, and you definitely notice them. Not sure why they are there, presumably to match the pelvic bones, but the problem with that is not everyone has the same size pelvis, and I definitely noticed them. Would be way better without. But after sitting for a bit, I didn't really notice them as the memory foam took form around me. It is a nice dense memory foam, and kept me comfortable the entire time I practiced the first time without having to do any of the normal adjusting I did before with a harder seat. I very much like using this style foam pad much, much better.- the tripod base is VERY heavy and sturdy, and you definitely feel like it is more than capable of handling your weight, and won't shift around. I am a fairly big guy at 6'4", 210, and a lot of times the weight limit on small stools like this are problematic, but I believe the description when it says 500lbs after using it. I am thrilled with the build quality.- the seat does drop about an inch when you first sit in it, but my hydraulic desk chair does the exact same thing, has lasted me for years through heavy use, and I don't even notice it anymore, so this isn't an issue for me.- the one area that is a drawback for me and wish were different is the VERY LARGE stitched logo on the back side...if I do any filming with this stool I will have to cover it with gaffer tape, and that's just super annoying. this thing where companies are putting their logo as big as possible splashed across the item really ruins it for people that want to do any filming, and is something I wish they would re-consider. I know a lot of people that will buy things just because they don't have these huge logos, even if they are inferior products, and I gotta be honest, I am coming around to that thinking. Just stop it. Especially on products at the top end of the price range like this one. It's just ugly. It would be worth the money if it didn't have that huge logo...but if you want me to advertise for you every time I use your product, honestly you should be paying me.- the velour top is really comfortable and feels nice and grippy, unlike the faux leather. I very much like the overall design and execution, everything feels top quality.Overall, I very much like it. The design and execution feels high quality, it feels like a stool that will provide years and years of comfortable use. With that huge logo on the back, well you will have to decide if it is worth it to you. I hate the huge logo and it will prevent me from getting anything else from this brand, but that being said, this is a very comfortable stool. Almost perfect for my use. I will just have to watch my filming angles. I kinda wish I had gotten the version with back though, now that I've used it a bit, but that's because I'm a bit older with back problems, and haven't used a backless seat like this in quite a long time...I forgot how much strain it can cause. In the end it's nearly perfect, but probably too high priced.

What a fantastic throne!!!This new thrown is without question the easiest throne I've ever set up. Open the box, extend the lets and pop the seat onto the stand. Done! The memory foam is super comfortable which is huge. It's very easy to adjust the height as it would be with any hydraulic chair which is a huge plus. The seat spins, but it does not 'wobble'. My old throne always has a bit of a wobble to it which is annoying, but this one is perfect.I have a small bit of concern about when the hydraulic lift eventually fails, but I'll worry about that when it happens. Otherwise this is a really fantastic throne. So easy to setup, adjust and use along with the most comfortable seat I've every had.

Weak. you need to constantly tighten the seat and it stays moving anyway. Uncomfortable too
