Years back I spent hundreds of dollars on the well-known model this is (somewhat) based upon. It was difficult to use, even for the pros. Eventually, after sitting a long time, I opted to sell it.That will never happen with this product.The reason is that the design is so radically different. Rather than being hooked up to your shop vac, this is a completely self-contained unit. It's head (on the side opposite the sanding disc) has both the drive motor for the disk, and works as a vacuum. In addition it blows the air down the hose, right into the capture bag.That capture bag is large, and has a shoulder strap. Clearly you can wear it over your shoulder, or you can just leave it on the floor. Either way, it works like a dream.The included sanding discs are Ina variety of grits, and are really not a set, as much as they are a sampler. Using them will let you know exactly what you need when you polish drywall in various conditions.There is an extension section included, and this really gives a great reach. Because the power head is lighter, and seems to move better, you can work more easily with the additional length.There's even a second handle when you opt for the extension.The hose is reinforced. The included extra parts (spring, gasket, even a set of motor brushes... I'm impressed). I'd say you can capture about 80%-90% of the drywall dust when working, and it's much, much quieter (but not quite by any measure) than having to use the shop vac. Add to that the fact that in more confined spaces having a shop vac just eats up valuable floor space.This unit is superbly designed, and well made. I'm impressed that you can get a sander with this much quality and flexibility for this price. That makes it a great value.But this just keeps getting better because there's an amazing, money-saving coupon right now on the Amazon product page. It's really substantial in terms of savings.The last thing worth nothing is the bag that they give you, which is(I believe) nylon. Everything fits into it. That's pretty incredible, as well.I'm a fan of this drywall sander. I have tried many different systems, and I'm amazed to realized that this is the best.An awesome value. Great machine.
