I purchased a pair of these DS-18 Piezo Tweeters because my music was lacking high frequencies. My music sounded dull. Now I can hear all these highs I was missing out on. The DS-18s are loud and crisp sounding. They actually scream pretty loudly to the point where I have to turn the the last three sliders on my 12 band Equalizer down a bit ! I have them silicone glued to the front of my homemade speaker boxes as you can see in the picture. They are powered by a QSC GX5 putting out 700 watts per channel. I am surprised the little DS-18 Piezos have not died yet. I also have these installed in my Lincoln and my F-150. They seem kinda small and cheap but I have no complaints. They work well !

Great to add to even a factory system. Add that missing highs to your music. Easy to use and hook up as well.

I was completely unable to hear the tweeters in my 7th gen accord. Pulled the old ones, slid these right into place and secured with a few small dabs of hot glue. I then wired these to the red wolf adapters to avoid cutting my factory wire adapter. The result: they are great for the price. They allegedly handle 40w RMS, and realistically with a factory head unit, you are essentially never exceeding half that. I can actually hear them. Quality isn't top notch, but a definite improvement over nothing. The clarity is above average for a speaker this cheap, but the SNR isn't great. If you have quiet moments in the middle of a song or something, you will hear these rather than total silence.

They broke apart they were cheap. And they were built like it too . I honestly tried to install them and the mounts wouldn't hold solid. They jumped around and vibrated out from the bass. And it's not extreme like that so they need to do a lil more r&d they went in the trash no Crossover either .

These are marketed as piezo tweeters, which they are not. Piezo tweeters are not made from coils of wire that generate magnetic fields, they are made from a material that expands and contracts under an applied voltage. Piezo tweeters automatically pass high frequencies and ignore low frequencies, tweeters made form magnetic coils have the opposite behaviour. That's the main reason they sound different. These tweeters are 1" magnetic ( aka dynamic) dome tweeters and that's exactly what they sound like. Dome tweeters are probably the least harsh sounding tweeter except for the piezo tweeter, but they are not the same.Real piezo tweeters don't require any crossover. These have a built-in crossover consisting of a single polarized electrolytic capacitor. You won't need any crossover to make them work properly. Most dynamic speakers have a permanent magnet to supply a magnetic field, but I don't think these do. They are perhaps rectifying the signal with the electrolytic capacitor in the crossover to generate a DC magnetic field in a seperate field coil. So while they have no magnet, there is a magnetic field when they are operating. Real piezo tweeters don't have any magnetic field at all. The capacitor/field coil trick is clever, but I'm suspicious about how linear ( clean) the reproduction is.In summary, it's a nice small tweeter that has the sizzling high end and decent spatial dispersion of a dome tweeter. If that's the sound you are looking for, I think you'll be very happy with them. There are much harsher sounding tweeters on the market. If you are looking for the transparency and natural high end of a piezo driver, well, it's not there.
