Contractors who installed irrigation lines used a steel pipe between the house's mail water supply and their PVC-plastic irrigation pipes. Our house sits on heavy-clay expansive soil that shrinks and expands greatly between winter rains and summer drought. This caused our house to move and sheared off the top of the PVC pipe fitting to the steel down-pipe from the house. See 1st photo showing about 3" of movement. I replaced that steel connecting pipe with this flexible hose that has nylon or similar braided reinforcement. See 2nd photo. It has lasted 3 years of continuous use.

I use for friction reduction low alge growth and pressure rating. UV rating not given but works in direct sun for three months at 115 feet pressure.

Inexpensive compared to others. They bind it tight with zip ties and it leaves kinks and dents in the tubing. Eventually straightens out in warm weather use. Have bought twice for draining a flat built up garage roof.

…than what was locally available. the pipe came in an easy roll but it by no means was so tight or packaged in a way that the ends lost their round. locally, I would have been forced to buy a product that had been poorly stored and would have had to spend a great deal of effort to return the pipe ends to rounds.I received a little more than 10’ and each end was cut completely square. would recommend the product wholeheartedly.

Pretty sturdy. It's rigid, but still flexible enough to work with, and it does the job. Nice and see-through, which helps me identify the sources of connection problems. Can't cut it with regular scissors, but a box cutter works. A bit tough to fit onto hose connectors, due to the rigidity, but it makes for a good seal when you get it on. Smells kind of yucky coming out of the bag (like freshly manufactured plastic) but the smell goes away after a while. Suitable for my purposes.

I use this hose for costume purposes and it is super high quality. I see some other reviews mentioning it's stiffness - if you are not putting the hose under high pressure, I would recommend boiling it. I bring a pot of water to a boil, drop the hose in, and let it boil for 10 mins. Remove pot from heat and let the hose stay in the water while it cools for a bit. When you remove it, it will be very flexible. My one complaint is that the lettering on the hose is applied with super-ink and it takes a bit of work to remove with acetone. Good product and small ID than you can buy at the big box stores.

I'm using it for the water system in my expedition vehicle, it goes to the first tank with water for the shower and washing dishes only. The "chemical" smell what others were talking about is just a smell of rubber nothing else! It's doesn't smell like acid or vinegar, you could use is for fresh water too if you clean/flush the hose. I did it with salt and warm (not hot) water, I cooked the water with salt first, cooled it down a bit, filled the hose and left it in the sun for the whole day, it's like uv-filtering. This is what we already did in some African countries to not get sick, of course if your stomach is sensitive only. You won't die cancer because of the hose, your cancer comes from somewhere else anyways, it's too late for all of us ;)The rubber smell will disappear slowly, so you will not smell it in the truck, RV or what ever.

Seems like a good hose came packaged with no kinks in it so that was good as it is a stiff hose
