With grit from coarse to very fine and everything in between these sanding sticks are very good for a variety of home and DIY projects from modelling, to woodworking, to metalwork. I 3D print a lot of stuff in PLA, ABS and PETG. I had some throw away pieces (misprints) that I hadn't gotten around to tossing yet that I tried these on first. PLA is difficult to sand as it tends to stay somewhat soft no matter what. Using some different grits I was able to sand out seams, ridges and stringing pretty easily trying different grits but mostly on the coarse end. On the ABS and PETG I got better results with even some of the finer sticks having a good effect on this harder plastic. Moving on to wood and metal I headed to the garage. I had some scraps from a "honey do" project I had finished for my wife that used red oak boards. I Though they were stained and poly'd I was able to sand intricate pieces and between small gaps. On metal I had a length of 1 1/2" steel tube left over from a closet remodel (clothes rod) that I had cut off with an angle grinder and a cutting wheel leaving somewhat sharp edges. I was able to sand inside and outside of the tube easily although the sanding stick I used was pretty much done after dealing with the metal. Overall I think this product would be something useful enough and cheap enough that I will stock up on some in my sanding drawer.

The pairs of sticks are packaged so only sticks of the same grit contact each other. The grits appear to be accurate compared to this and other brands (such as 3M), and each stick feels study enough for light to moderate use, though of course it could bend if I put enough pressure on it.The grit is the same on both sides of the stick, and there's no grit along the narrow edges. The grit value is printed on one side, with the slash between the same numbers confirming that both sides have the same grit applied. The grit variety seems more suited for small areas and for polishing rather than removal - the coarsest grit is 80, for instance.I think the pack of 20 sticks is a good value for $4.99 (price at the time of my order): you get 2 sticks per grit, and each stick has 2 sides, so that's 4 sides I can get use out of. And, as you can see in the photos, these sticks are a size that's easy to hold and get multiple uses out of.

I got these because I always need to sand inside of delicate, hard to reach spots. This is a great assortment of grits for anything you can think of. I was really hoping that the sticks would be easier to cut smaller for tighter areas. They seem to just be foam backed but normal slicing with a razor knife does not cut them. I will probably devise a different way to cut them and I know that isn't their intention so I didn't knock them for it. Overall though, if the size is suitable, these work well.

I like to restore and customize diecast cars and plastic models. I then make a diorama to display my cars. These sanding sticks will come in handy for these tasks. They also work great for getting the mold lines out of the plastic and diecast cars. The progression of grits is nice from coarse to ultra fine. I have ordered other abrasive products from Dura Gold and they have all performed well. The price for this set is reasonable when compared to some of the name brands in the model building community. The abrasive grit is clearly marked on the sticks and the abrasive is on both sides with a softer core in the middle. These don't last that long when you use them on metal, and they clog up quickly with wood. I will reserve them for use mostly with plastic in order to prolong their useable lifespan. With plastic you can use an old toothbrush to get the debris off of them while using them. That does not work with metal or wood debris. This is a very nice assortment of sanding sticks and at a reasonable price in my opinion. I can definitely recommend this set.....

I use sanding for 3D prints, laser cut wood and miniatures. I found the sanding sticks well made with a big variety but most of the box was very fine grit so I’ll probably only use half of them. I’m just more likely to scrape with an exacto and prime but these did a great job on layer lines in my 3D prints. I ended up cutting sticks into two at an angle to get more of a point to work with. I’m pretty happy with the quality and the thickness is good for gripping without being too thick to manipulate around my models I used it on.

very handy sanding sticks for detail sanding. comes with many grits. 2 each of every grit from 80 up to 7000. a lot easier than trying to wrap sand [paper around a stick to get in that one little nook. about 35 cents a piece which is pretty reasonable if you need to do detail sanding. It's made by Dura Gold so you know it's a quality sandpaper. should last

These sanding sticks are pretty good. Quality is about average, as with all sandpaper from this brand. These are kind of a niche tool, so I have only gotten a chance to use them once, but so far so good.

I ordered these because I saw great potential for using them to remove rust and corrosion from electrical contacts or delicate mechanical devices using very fine grits not available with files. In the past, I have wrapped emery cloth around popsicle sticks or tongue depressors, but I believe the finest emery cloth grit is about 600. I have also used very fine wet or dry sandpaper when doing minor vehicle body work but that paper is usually sold in five sheet packs. I'm not about to spend $50 - $75 to purchase large sheets of ultrafine grits I will never use, so an assortment like this makes sense for my particular needs.I have removed the sticks and put them in a clear plastic container received as outer throwaway packaging received from another product, but the container is good enough for storage and makes it possible for me to easily see the grit numbers on the sticks. I could not see what I might need with the product's cardboard packaging.
