Silent switches. You love them...or you hate them. I love them because my wife doesn't love me in the next room clacking away on the Akko Creamy Yellows, going 95 wpm at 2:30 a.m. on a Tuesday night when inspiration strikes for a new Amazon review. These have an awesome feel to them. They're not the most silent, but the price is good, the feel is fantastic, and who doesn't love a little alliteration with their switches. Also, I lift bricks and stones and such during the day for work, when I'm not mauling keebs, so I'm unintentionally mildly (moderately prob) aggressive when I type, lol so I highly prefer something in the 60+gram range otherwise I'm bottoming out on every keystroke. These stand up to it just fineFeker 80 - Silent Shrimps (stock) - Frontier Element-001 PBT/PC keycaps

These switches surprised me. I never have used silent switches before, and my initial choices (Boba U4s) were out of stock from my usual go-to places. So why not try out something a bit more wallet-friendly? I had these switches in my crosshairs for a while now. And as many videos and as much research I did, I knew the only way to know if I liked them would be to try them for myself. So why would I want silent switches? This is for a work keyboard, I used Linear switches (banana splits) but someone mentioned that it was a little loud-- which for my environment it was pretty noticeable (it is a very quiet work environment), and I am an aggressive typer that always bottoms out my keys. So I decided to look for a good silent switch and I knew I wanted to switch to Tactile switches as linear silents are often perceived as mushy and unsatisfying. What I like about these switches:Let me say I love these stock. It could be used without adding more lube -- it does have a mild ping but the tactility feels great, and you can really feel the bump. The switch itself is more muted than a regular linear switch, but the sound of the keyboard really depends on how you type and on what kind of keyboard you put it in. Many people forget that the switch is not the only factor in sound, the keyboard, keys, and even your desk plays a part in changing the sound signature of your keyboard. To reduce the sound I added some lube, Tribosys 3204 which is a lighter lube than Krytox 2050g. I bag lubed the springs, and lubed the bottom housing along with the stem excluding the leaf and legs of the stem to avoid ruining the tactile bump. Additionally, I skipped filming the switches because housing feels pretty tight already and wouldn't likely gain any benefit from films. It is a heavier switch so it will need some breaking in but to me it feels perfect as is.The lube made the pinging almost non existent and the switches feel better with the lube. Again, use a light coat of lube because too much will turn these switches to feel like a membrane keyboard. The overall sound of the keyboard became quieter as well. Conclusion:For the price they are worth it, they are great stock but can benefit from some light lubing.Edit:I just tested all my switches and found only 1 was faulty. It happens every now and then. Thankfully I have extras.

These are great switches overall. They have pretty good tactility and are quiet out of the box. However, they are also very scratchy. I would not recommend them without lube. After meticulously lubing the housings, springs, and stems separately (every part that moves besides what touches the leaf), I can say that 90% of the scratchiness is gone, they are even quieter, and feel much better. Some were still a bit scratchy though and required some additional treatment. Great silent switches, but stay away and stick to POM stem switches unless you are willing to lube them yourself.Installation is normally of course easy, the 2 star installation rating is due to my opinion that lube is basically required which makes the installation a very time consuming process.

I purchased these switches for building my first keyboard. I am a big fan of tactile sounding switches, and I wanted to make a really nice office keyboard that sounded calming and was not distracting. These switches are absolutely perfect for that. Right out of the tube, they sound really good, almost a small thock can be heard, but its such a dull, soft sound. It's soothing. I did not lube them at all, and I don't really plan to - but I would wager they would probably sound even better if I did. I am also using an RGB PCB and the clarity of the switches themselves allows the light to shine through really nicely, I was surprized it looked that good. I give these a 5 star rating for product description correctness, function and style.

Do you love heavy switches? Do you love tactile switches? Do you love not driving everyone around you absolutely mad while you type? Then these bad boys are exactly what you need. Perfect for tactile-loving heavy typers, they have a satisfying bottom out that, while not sharp, it doesn't classify as "mushy".Satisfying, but nearly silent, if you opt to leave them unlubed, you will find that they have a bit of a leaf ping. I did opt to lube these to reduce some of that. I feel like even with the leaf ping they are completely useable, but do tend to feel a touch scratchy.Overall, if you're willing to spend the time to crack them open, give them a little bit of lube, you will have a fantastic switch. I did have a few of them with pent pins, but nothing massive. About 3 in the entire patch. Absolutely worth it for any tactile lover.

I'm typing with them right now and have been using them for months. Love 'em. Sound is good; not too noisy, but also doesn't sacrifice the feel. They're very satisfying. I'll be looking at Durock switches again when I inevitably decide to make another keyboard.

These are really great switches. They do not feel mushy. RGB comes through nicely. Heavier feel that other silent switches (which I love). no signficant stem wobble. My new goto for silent switches.
