I used the B8618 Radiator Spud Wrench to remove spuds from my 100+ year old radiators. With some effort, it successfully removed all of them without any breakage or deformation.

Each size is severally undersize, you can’t get a good grip on both lugs at the same time. You either on one fully and not the other, or “IF” you can keep it centered you’ll grab maybe 1/4 of each lug. Considering the spud is usually brass and into a cast iron fitting for a long time this tool alone won’t ever get the spud out. More apt to tear tbe lugs out. They should taper each size so it tightens up against the lugs the deeper you insert it.

I use it for toilets in a school district and it works great! The variance of sizes is just right.

As soon as we put this product to use it broke within 15 seconds. Very weak, barely any pressure on it.

This was okay and works well on new connectors. The nipples of the new pieces are much more prominent than the older ones of 1907 radiators. If it were able to go 1/2'' deeper, it could get more bite on the nipples and loosen or tighten better. I am planning to debulk mine and see if I can get it to the better depth so I can rebuild the radiators or I will search out another tool. When this works, it works well, but when it just hits the mark, it reduces your chance of getting at what is left since it grinds the nipples away. The tool is durable, the mark of 3 is due to the fact it comes up short of the target area you need for old radiators.
